He actually got a quick reply from Air Canada, which is surprising.

Are any other Avalanche reporters going to Edmonton? Chambers with the Post or anyone from DNVR?

Hopefully Dater can make it. I don't subscribe to his site or agree with him much but I don't root for him to fail either.

Would rather someone rather than no one covers the Avs and writes some first hand stories about the experience of this highly unique playoffs.

He used to drive me bonkers but I’m kind of rooting for him in a morbidly fascinated kind of way.

There's no such thing as a non-essential human being.

Dater is a lovable oaf, but a dangerous lovable oaf. He gets everything wrong all the time, from rumors to lineups to basic facts, and misses all breaking news.

Dater being wrong is overblown on this forum. He's often wrong but not nearly as much as people say he is.

Personally I like when he's traveling with the team...reading about horror Airbnb/rental car stories is entertaining.

In the last week he claimed that all Avs games were at 10am MST, thought Gusarov was just added as a new scout, and made some false claims about the timing and nature of Byram being a Black Ace

No that was Clark and it was several weeks ago.

Doesn't change the fact that he gets a lot wrong and misses some big news. His rumors aren't so good either. I don't have anything against him personally, seems like a nice dude.

In his last article Clark keeps calling Jost a lottery pick. What am I missing?

Choosing between a lottery pick and your team’s leader in shorthanded minutes appears to be another roster dilemma facing Jared Bednar

Jost described earlier this season what it was like to be a lottery pick

Jost is thought to be the more dynamic player who could eventually tap into the potential that made him a lottery pick.

---

WTF?

What do you mean? Are you objecting to his draft status being brought up this many years later or the wording itself? Any player picked in the top 15 is a lottery pick.

Clearly just blanking on this use of the term. Which by the way is stupid here anyway, especially three times, although factual.

Since when players picked outside of the top 3 are referred to as lottery picks?

It has always been like that. The non-playoff teams are the lottery teams so players picked in that range are the lottery picks.
