Caufield is obviously uber skilled, but what makes him special is that killer instinct that all great athletes have
when it matters, he’s always up for it

It's a great shirt though lolJust bought that in the span of 2 minutes. Am I a fanboi?
I think I am.
Ok i'm probably overeacting but;
Nick Suzuki: 21 years old
Cole Caufield: 20 years old
Could that be our Toews/Kane duo?
I guess the magic formula is having a Canadian/American combo...

Just amazing that 14 teams skipped him. We were really really lucky because Caufield will become an elite player. Not a single doubt in my mind.Still can't believe he was an healthy scratch to start the playoffs.
Now he's on our main line and no one can even touch him.
He's got absolutely all the offensive tools.
An explosive 4-steps acceleration, dangerous wrist shot, a hell of a one timer and if he goes one of one with the goalie on a breakaway like last night, the hands are there to do the work. His vision, playmaking abilities and hockey IQ are through the roof....and he didn't even played 25 games yet.
An absolute keeper.....
How nice is it to finally have a forward who can roof a puck on a chance like this?

Your right. Caufield's will be higher.Imagine Cole during shootouts in the regular season...
Haven't been this excited for a Habs prospect since Subban, but I doubt Caufield has the same trajectory in Montreal

What is quite remarkable is that Caufield has gone from a player who couldn't crack our mediocre lineup at the start of the playoffs to being our most dangerous, dynamic player. Only in Montreal. We may have well stirred and awaken those fabled Montreal Forum ghosts.the goal was the goal... unbelievable skill and instincts.
but honestly, the most impressive play he made in my eyes was off a dzone face off late in the game... He sniffed out Vegas's set play (something so many habs fowards have amazingly not been able to do), made the right move, and did just enough to break up the play and cause a turnover...
smart, decisive, playing within himself and using his quickness to make a big defensive play, the kind that doesn't really show up anywhere.
Kid is a complete gamer, one heck of a hockey player... going to be fun to see him fully develop.
While I agree that if Caufield was a bigger player he would have been a candidate for first overall in his draft year, Kovalchuk was a much different skater than Caufield.Caufield hands and scoring ability is very much Kovalchuk like. If he was 6’ he would have gone 1st overall like Kovalchuk

Subban squandered his dynamic skating in the name of bulking up. He went from a special player to a highly paid afterthought.Yes... And you just can't picture him starting some kind of ColeCaufield.com media/marketing side business also...
Not that I ever felt anything bad towards PK.
That plus early back/hip issues, probably not helped by how bulky he got.Subban squandered his dynamic skating in the name bulking up. He went from a special player to largely a highly paid afterthought.
