I’m not sure that Kane or Bertuzzi are specifically the players they’ll target but this strategy makes sense to me.

You underestimate just how desperate Dubas is right now. "Leaking" this big name player nonsense to his lackeys (as if the leafs are one or two players away from taking it to the next level) speaks volumes of where his head is.

What does Mikheyev have to do with Galchenyuk? There is practically nothing overlapping the two.

Mikheyev is a defensive specialist who is only on the PK. Galchenyuk is a pure offensive guy who only plays PP. Mikheyev should really only be in a bottom 6. Galchenyuk should really only be in a top 6.

Having (or not having) one does not impact the other in the slightest.

Rielly was the best dman in the playoffs by quite a bit. Zero chance they move Rielly without a significant dman coming in.

I believe this is absolutely true. However the moves to make that happen would be shocking to those Leafs' fans who are invested into the individual players themselves.

Dubas at the TDL was kicking the tires on Ricard Rakel, Mattias Ekholm, lesser players Dubas was previously kicking the tires on Trevor Lewis (RFA), Alec Martinez (UFA).

IMO who he brings in will be a name(s) we recognize but not a difference maker equal to or better than the big 4. Dubas and Shannys comments about not trading any of the big 4 + our cap limits us in what we can and can't do.
