He hasn’t been good offensively or defensively this year. Last year was a one hit wonder. Won’t ever happen again.

Former Oilers and draft picks are allowed to have success when they leave Edmonton. You don't need to relentlessly hate him just because he panned out for a different organization. How many games have you seen Gus play this year? Two?

Are you trying to say he’s been good this season? He has not.

60 point defenseman last season, above 0.5 PPG this season, for just a third rounder. Seems like good value to me, even if he's a Barrie defensively.

good deal for the Flames, bad move for Stan.

If you trade for Gus, you are trading for offense and PP. That's all you expect.

Seems like a pretty reasonably price for a #4/5 Defenceman who can put up some points and help the Flames on the PP a bit. I thought for sure his point totals mirage was going to see some team pay more than he's worth for him. But this seems pretty darn fair for what he is, and his rental status. Basically depth you could push up the lineup a little bit if you really had to...but would probably rather not.

I thought the Hawks should have moved him last year when his value was likely at an all time high

No offense but i think this may have been one of the low risk/high reward trades, most trades are a little over priced and im sure most fans thought Erik Gustafsson* was going to get a 2nd+ because of his 60 point season, even if he picks up 10 points to finish the season I'd be glad only paying a 3rd

Thought he played well last night. Had some nice chemistry with Forbort, our other pickup. Also picked up a point on Monahan's PP goal. Happy we have him.

He certainly made the PP look better.

Having Gio on the 2nd unit only helps us more than it hurts.
