In theory Calgary has the defensive depth to protect someone like Gus in tough situations, as well. Chicago doesn't really have the depth to protect a player like him in 2020 (They would be 5-10 years ago).

I don't really get this line of thought. Calgary isn't particularly good defensively.

They are 20th in goals against per game. Just ahead of the Hawks.

Our forwards are slim on 2 way guys, so its mainly on the d to keep the puck from our zone

Very frustrating player. When he’s good he can be very good. When he’s bad it’s like watching a forward play defense.
