He might be a shitty headcoach, but he's still well-connected and well-respected around the league. You'd be stupid to not take advantage of the chance to bounce a few names off him and use him as a sounding board, even if you plan on firing him tomorrow (and they probably don't). I didn't see anything in the quote that suggests he has had any kind of undue influence in the decision -making process.Ask a clown for his opinion and he'll point you to a circus ring leader.
