And yet when he doesn't play next week and Cory looks like trash, it will be the fault of this pathetic roster we're icing (and Severson) and not our choice of washed up, charred beyond recognition goalie we're using.

And yet Blackwood has allowed 6 goals on his last 128 shots or so? Behind a team that's worse than anything any other goalie (other than maybe Domingue in St. Louis) has had to play behind on our team.

You are just bitter and angry that Cory is the goalie getting shelled and not you.

And another note, Zacha has been playing a ton of short handed minutes lately. Played over 6 today and led the forward groups in total TOI.

There's a correlation with burning hatred for Severson in GDT's where Blackwood isn't playing.

Don't get me wrong, it still happens plenty of times with Blackwood, but it's a lot more prevalent in the Louie/Cory/Kinkaid games.

Same goes for Will Butcher.

You might be right but I think Butcher isn't very good regardless of who is net. The team looks a zillion times better with Blackwood behind them though, that's for certain.

Eh sort of reminds me of a lot of our first-place seasons when we'd go through the dog days in February and March. It's tough to get up for games when you're already in the playoffs and just looking to stay healthy and fine-tune. This was definitely the type of game we'd no-show in the Caps' position.

If the Devils don’t need to trade him to upgrade the roster and can get him a solid LHD defensive-minded partner, he’ll be fine (or even great) on the second pairing.

Senn has some potential. He needs to lead Bing next season for the entire season. Then for 2021-2022 he can backup Blackwood if he Senn has a good season.

I think he already is fine there. Obviously a more stay at home type of reliable LD partner is preferable but I love Severson.

Well maybe Senn is worth something, he just needs more minor league time.

The only way I'd feel comfortable with him playing here full time next year is if we had called him up a while ago and had him playing all those games Domingue played and he did a good job in them and in the remaining non-Blackwood games through the end of the season.

His 700th goal will likely become an afterthought just for the fact that he’s probably going to score a shit ton of more goals. Starting to get up there in age but gotta figure he’s definitely a lock for at least 800 at this point.
