He is just one of the few guys who really gives a shit. He can go and change the momentum if he really wants. Who knows what he really wants, timing and situation for the team just sucks.
I just find it hard to want to keep him, when it’s going to be 2-3 years before we probably see an upswing. He’ll be 31 years old by then (not like that’s ancient)

What? Petey was a beast tonight. 70% xGF share, was physical, made tons of smart defensive plays all night long, would've sealed the win if his stick hadn't broken, sets up the OT winner. Absolutely no complaints with his game.

He did make a bunch of dumb plays on the PP, but that seems to be a teamwide issue.
Thanks for the feedback!

Something we have to keep in mind - 23 year old Petey is centering a line with a 20 year old rookie Podz and a 21 year old sophomore Hogs. That is a VERY young line for the NHL. Bruce is putting a lot of responsibility on Petey's shoulders. This is great preparation and experience for the future of this team. We're going to see how these young guys handle it. So far, I like it.

I have no idea what it is about the ice in California, but every game down there the Canucks look like they're skating in quicksand. Even Hughes looked average in the skating department tonight. As for OEL and Myers, almost a nightmarish night.

But I guess the hockey gods are smiling on the Canucks these days....to get four points out of the last two games is akin to miracle. One thing's for certain. They'll need to play a lot better in the coming weeks to even think about climbing back into this playoff race.

Horvat looks absolutely done. Guy looks like a 34 year old veteran with his best days behind him.

Losing any step was going to really hinder his NHL career. May need to go back to skate mills next summer...

I have felt like Bruce has kept that line together as a message to all 3 of them. I like that he is keeping them together and basically saying "figure out how to play together because this combination works".

I've been on the trade Horvat+Miller train since Benning survived last years trade deadline but you can't trade Bo and still convince JT to extend. I mean you probably can't convince him to extend in general, but particularly not after trading Horvat and whatever else Rutherford is going to do to this thing.

The way I see it, complete hockey players can play at an elite level well beyond 30. You know who else is a player complete like Miller? Pavelski. He's got 52 in 47, and he's 9 years older than Miller.
