That last power play wasnt as good as some are making it out to be, Dallas had to press and we didnt have to shoot, sticking to the ouside and working the puck around isnt that difficult, especially when the Stars had to run around to try to force a turnover.

yeah but i like to see it like this:

Since the canucks weren't trying to score though, they did exactly what they wanted to do. It is a notable accomplishment to spend an entire 2 minute powerplay in the offensive zone, whatever the circumstances.

Oh i agree completely, it just seemed like some were overrating it

As long as I'm over here...what do you guys think of that Kassian trade? Has it worked out for you? I know a lot were opposed to trading Hodgson.

Did not like it at the time because we needed a centre more than a winger last year, more of a positional thing.

I'm still on the wall overall, Hodgson's defects and strengths are both being highlighted in Buffalo with their loose offensive system. He's been on for a lot of goals for them, but for goal he's on for his team he's on for more against, that's a lot of goals against.

Kassian - he's really up and down atm. The pieces are all there, if he puts it together he has the potential to be a top 25 player in this league, if not a 3/4 line guy with decent hands and variable work rate. It's just a frustrating wait to see what he hatches into over the next couple of years.

Kassian was actually inconsistent tonight, first half he was not good, then the 2nd half an assist, a fight, and his passing looked much much better, he looked very confident, so weird.

It was like he was two different people in the game alone.

heck
Normal way you get something besides regret and rep as a degenerate gambler.

Yep.

Now don't get me wrong, if you go to a casino/Vegas with friends and gamble for entertainment purposes, there's no problem with that (just give yourself a reasonable spending limit).
But if you're gambling to try and make money, you're screwed.

I'm pretty sure it's meant as a joke/half-hearted compliment.

Dallas seemed way to passive given the situation. Sit in the box and wait for a turnover from a team that didn't want to shoot. They should have tried to force the Canucks to shoot. I mean potentially giving up a goal vs never getting the puck. I know which I'd rather when down by 1 with with 2 mins to go. "Henrik Sedin won't shoot so lets guard the other 4 guys" meanwhile Henrik is just skating around looking at the clock.

No doubt in my mind Luongo starts next game, seeing as though it's a back-to-back and unless he plays bad i assume he'll get the following one as well

Probably, seems my sarcasm dectetor was way off there

I agree, at first they seemed to play a normal PK, then relalized that they had to force the issue and pressured which plays to the Sedin's strenghs, they quickly got tired after chasing the puck and just didnt have the energy to continue being aggresive.

Hansen is not a Top 6 player.

Unless we're referring to Schroeder who is a better 2C right now.

But I like Booth a lot on that line. Schroeder might be that good at making everyone else around him better.

Well higgins is not really either by that definition, and alot of people would say raymond and booth are not either. So unless we want to discuss how we need a top 6 winger (which we do) lets deal with what we have.

Hansen will help that line because its been struggling defensively and in corners getting to pucks, and passing to an open player, hansen excells at that.

What do you mean unless were referring to schroeder? I was refering to kesler, higgins, line, lets not argue over whats 2nd and whats the third line.
