Being a 6 means being a top 24 team, which we certainly were not, at any point during the year.

I guess you maybe could make an argument for us being a 7 seed, but is being an 8 and deserving a 7 really "getting screwed"?

But you're assuming us being a 7 would not have entirely shuffled around the bracket, which is probably a poor assumption.

UNC played like an 8 throughout the season, and they got an 8. In a season like this, playing a 2 instead of a 1 isn't really all that different, no one's really better than anyone else up near the top. It is what it is.

BTW, my prediction was a "bold" prediction, not what will actually happen. I don't think it's likely for either to win, but I think in both cases it's FAR more likely than the typical 1 vs. 8/9 matchup in tournaments past.
