If the Olympics start tomorrow it would be Price backed up by Fleury and Ward. But a lot can happen between now and 2014 ... if a young prospect like Crawford or Reimer starts posting elite seasons, they could get chosen. If the Canucks win a Cup in the next two years, Luongo is back in the discussion. Really too early to say.

IMO, it's gonna be the guy who has the most PO success over the next two years. Of the 4 main guys mentioned in this thread this is how I'd rank their success in the next two seasons:

Fleury - PIT

Luongo - VAN
Price - MTL

Ward - CAR

Why the hell would Canada pick Vancouver's $10,000,000 farm team goalie as their starter in 2014?

All luongo has done is win gold after gold for canada. People not having him on the team are delusional.

He was on the team. I wouldn't say he won the gold, or that he was even a key player. There are many goalies that would have won in that situation.

Fleury will start, Luongo will be the experienced backup, with Price being the 3rd string.

You people are forgetting that Steve Yzerman will likely be in charge of the team in 2014. So the starter will be Dwayne Roloson, with backup Mike Smith.

Gives Ward an edge. Stevie Y will see more of him over the next couple years.
