There is not a single word or sign that the Kings are looking for another goalie from the management.
We just resigned Copley and we are sitting well.

No reason for those Canadian mud slingers to involve the Kings with any player available on the market
lol

Not sure why Talbot would turn down an extension?
Did he not cry about playing time after the Wild brought in Fluery?
Maybe he's been negotiating (tampering?) through another player with a contender and there's interest?

The guy's 35. Let him go in the offseason and get someone younger. In the meantime let him sit for the rest of the year or trade him to a non-playoff team. Somewhere very cold.

There has been no indication he can repeat that. He looks terrible right now. Not worth the risk.
Talbot has been fine. Not good, not horrible. Just ok.
The Summer of Dorion feels like years ago.
Sens are a) not trading Talbot and b) on pace for around 90 pts (even with their awful end to 2022). What exactly were you expecting?

I bet the extension was for 1.5 million and I further bet he's kind of thinking about it right now.

Are they still looking to move him? Feels like old news.

He is going to Toronto...he is a Hamilton guy and their goaltending is suspect.
Suspect how ? The goaltending has been lights out most of the year . Murray has been better than Talbot this season as well . I mean maybe as a contingency but id expect him to sit 3 rd on the depth chart if that move happened. Sogaard might be better already as well . Maybe the future is now ?

Sens are going for the playoffs now. It’s pointless to move him for like a 3rd or something when we already have Forsberg out

Would be deflating to the group

I doubt he gets moved barring a ridiculous offer

Edit I now see Big Bruce tweet lol basically carbon copy of what I wrote lol

Not sure if Talbot is on the move now.

Ottawa has been playing well over the last 15 games and have a chance at a playoff spot. We can argue all day long how big that chance is, but they have gained some steam and momentum, and haven't been in the playoffs for several years.

Its not going to be surprising that they will run with Talbot & Sogaard now until the end of their season.

I don’t trust him but with Forsberg out, he’s our second best option in net. Ride him out and let him walk this off-season

The parking lot of the Canadian Tire centre is really cold though!

Surprisingly they have the best odds at that last playoff spot. Not sure how it works as buffalo has an extra game left.

They'll factor strength of schedule, recent play, and roster situation...some other factors as well no doubt. Buffalo's remaining schedule is about the same as Ottawa's but I think these variables will tilt things in Ottawa's favour in a data model:

Roster: Ottawa added Chychrun, Buffalo has lost Tuch to injury (not sure how long), Dahlin has been out a few games as well now. No major adds so far up to the trade deadline for Buffalo either.

Schedule: Buffalo's next 6 games are very tough, Ottawa's next 5 are not. This will work in Buffalo's favour come mid march where their remaining schedule will be slightly easier than Ottawa's, but if Ottawa builds up a cushion in the next 10 days, that will be demoralizing for Buffalo. Conversely, after playing the Blue Jackets at home on Saturday, Ottawa goes on a 5 game road trip out west after. They are the worst team in the east against the west (10-14-2).

Recent Play: Since the all-star break, Ottawa is 7-3-1, Buffalo is 5-5-0. Buffalo just lost to Columbus at home, then got smoked by Boston last night.

Misc details: Buffalo does not have a good record against eastern teams whereas Ottawa does. Ottawa has a 0.629 win% here for the season, Buffalo is 0.452. Buffalo also strangely has their home and away records in reverse of what you would normally expect to see...12-16-2 at home, 19-9-2 on the road. Not sure if that would be a factor but you gotta win at home and the road games get tougher this time of year.

None of this matters come Saturday if Ottawa loses to Columbus and Buffalo beats Tampa - if that happens, Buffalo will probably have the better odds moving forward - all based on one day.

Buffalos GM abandoned them at the tdl, tuch is out probably until april, Dahlin at least until early/mid march, the GM abandoned the sabres at the deadline, Ottawa got better, and lastly buffalos gm abandoned them at the deadline

I'm hearing rumblings that Buffalo's GM abandoned them at the deadline. Can anyone confirm?

So are you saying Buffalo's GM abandoned the team at the deadline?
no im saying im very disappointed that ottawa got chychrun for a package the sabres could have beaten 3 times over without sacrificing much of their future prospect line and this is how im choosing to process that

trying to figure out who would be more upset missing the playoffs right now

Buffalo fans knowing Chychrun could have put them over the top or Ottawa fans knowing that had their GM pulled off chychrun 4 months ago they'd have comfortably walked into the playoffs and possibly dodged boston and carolina in the process
