If the bruins had a 1A and 1B for the top two lines, Nate Thompson maybe would've made sense.

But we are going to need production from whatever 3C we end up with. Cant just be a pure checking line center.

Habs added Weise &Thompson.2 role players who will not pass up a hit and add depth.Habs plan is to wear teams down but at end of the day shortage on skill will bite them.

For fun (I know a lot of people in this thread don't like fun, so please excuse me):

To Bruins:
Getzlaf (2mil retained)
Silferberg

To Ducks:
Boston 1st
Frederick
Lauzon
Heinen
Backes

Marchand-Bergeron-Silferberg
Cehlarik-Krejci-Pasta
DeBrusk-Getzlaf-Wagner
Nordstrom-Kuraly-Acciari

Ducks get some young talent to help their rebuild, B's get the big 3c that we hoped Backes could've been.

Burn it with fire.

We get an aging Getzlaf and Silvferberg and we lose our 1st, Frederick, Lauzon, AND Heinen.

I would drive to TD with the tar and feathers personally.

Well i look at moving him same way I did with Bruins moving Seguin.STUPIDITY. Sorry but that would be crazy for Florida to do

His stats are not as impressive as they should be. I agree this would be a shocker move, but he has underperformed given the expectations put on him:

I'll be good with Kevin Hayes or Mark Stone.

Chris Kreider is going to cost us even more than Stone

so Saad and Schenn off the table.

Good thing Sweeney is taking his time.

*shakes head*

Just because a few people thought it was a good idea has no bearing on if it was ever possible.

The comment reads like "Sweeney should have made a call but didn't and now they are gone".

I mean we at least know Sweeney had some conversation with a team (the Blues?) and the team didn't like the showcased item (JFK?) by deconstructing Dom sprinkles.

Was that Donny pursuing or the Blues offering, well he didn't get traded somewhere else, hmmm?

As the resident panther fan here, grew up in Sunrise and engaged to probably the panthers biggest fan I can say that Hubby would be a frustrating player to watch here but his board work is amazing and he has an almost elite shot, I've seen cats fans questions is effort and drive as well as defensive drawbacks (BB scratched him one game this year due to missed coverage iirc) He would do great with Krejci and Pasta though if he was insulated by a good leadership group.

He has 6 points in 53 games. Thompson as anything more than a 4th line, 13th forward would be a huge fail. It would be like having Noel Acciari on the 3rd line.
I have a feeling we'll see in the playoffs. He's at least a serviceable, experienced center. At 3C we don't really have that. At cheap $$$ I think it would've be a good insurance policy for when "prices are too high." We'll see.
