I'd wouldn't mind seeing Frederic either, as long as the B's aren't messing up their development curves

If a full year in the AHL means he's better when he finally arrives then stick to the plan

Ya me Too.

I keep watching, trying to see something there, but I,m not seeing it.

I don't mind Cave as a 4th liner/13th forward, but for the fact we have five other guys on the roster with that same role

I don't know. Maybe that's it but I just don't see him impacting the game. I'd just as soon seen someone else get a shot. like you said too many of the same type players.

Call Bjork back up, give Senyshyn a shot and put them in a top six role and see what happens. After all the bruins need goals.

Wasn't really sure where to put this but it does a nice job of looking at the dangers of overvaluing prospects and picks. Yes I know you have to have a pipeline of prospects but at some point they have to start producing. Some have McAvoy, Pastrnak, DeBrusk to name a few but falling in love with fair to middling prospects is just as sure a way to ensure failure as relying on overpriced free agents or trades.

I don’t know, theBruins could use a few more Bergy, DeBrusk, Krejci, Marchand over Kuraly, Wagner, Accrii, just to mention a few. Maybe looking back at the roster in 2011 compared to 2018 will change your mind.

Not sure we're looking at an apples to apples situation here. You've got 2nd, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks versus 5th, 5th, and UDFA. They also drafted the CHL players, whereas they signed/traded for the college guys.

The two best young players on the team (Pastrnak and McAvoy) were drafted out of the Allsvenskan and college.

The two best players are from the CHL Bergy and Marchand.

Chia falls in love hard with low end guys. I think to the chagrin of the clubs he runs
So glad he's gone

or do a better job of identifying CHL players not named Hamill or Zboril or Senysyhn. Like everything else you need a mix, I would like to see Sweeney pick more CHL players but if he can get more McAvoys he can keep drafting college players. As mid to late round picks Heinen, Bjork and Donato are all value selections (I know all Chiarelli) but I would prefer a more balanced selection approach in terms of types of players whether they be Euro, College or CHL, bring in some grit and toughness to offset the quiet, intelligent game of a Heinen with those mid to late round picks, never mind earlier selections

You mean physical mid round picks like Tye McGinn, Cody Beach, Travis Ewanyk, Kale Kessy, Seth Ambroz?

Not to mention Cody Payne, Camara, MacDermid, Randell?

Point being that mid-late round picks, no matter what “type” player are always hard to project. I want the B’s to develop some nasty guys that can play the game, but I’m also happy that the B’s appear to have hit on a 4th round “quiet” guy in Heinen.

Er, David Krejci was drafted out of the Czech Junior leagues, not from the CHL. He did play in CHL after being drafted.

Chara and Carlo from the WHL . . .

While not a Bruin pick, i believe Chara much like Krejci was drafted from a Euro league, who came to CHL after his draft

Look the draft is all about getting the best player with your picks, which means having quality scouting in place in all leagues, AND also the willingness to follow your list, regardless of where the players come from.

People are talking like the Bruins under Sweeney have been unwilling to draft CHL players.

Look at the last 4 drafts, the Bruins have drafted 10 CHL, 9 Euro, 8 US hockey. With the last 2 drafts being more international

4th round is good value for a quiet, intelligent defensive specialist or a player like Miles Wood who also went in the 4th round.

I knew that Chara and Krejci came out of Europe but played in the CHL- I mentioned Chara because this has been kind of a tongue-in-cheek "debate" about the draft busts in Fenian's video coming mostly from the CHL. I don't think it was ever meant to be serious, at least it wasn't to me :)

Yes and Krejci also from the Q. There are no more busts from the CHL than from anywhere else, scouts job is to find the best players, with the amount of leagues and area to cover there is little wonder mistakes are made.
