I don’t see Alzner making Boston’s roster, he would be purely an AHL veteran signing.

Habs fan here. Very true. Alzner is a warrior. But he's done. He is just so slow. He doesn't have the high end smarts of a guy like Chara to still be useful even though he slowed down (and Chara really wasn't as useful as he used to past few years either).

I don't think Alzner should be able to stick on an NHL club this year. It would mean this defense is not very good.
