Still can't get over that pass from Bratt, cross ice to a streaking Hughes and led him perfectly. Just right on the tape. Not in the skates, no reach, just catch and release. That's an extremely difficult pass.

I think someday they're going to be 2/3 of the best line in the league.
According to Hughes post game, he and Bratt are like “peanut butter and jelly.”

(I bet that’s going to stick.)

Yes once Gritsyuk comes over they are going to play with him and be the shrimp and Grits line.

Bleedred, that was the Devil's best game against one of the best hockey teams in the NHL.

Vitek had probably his best game, and he got an assist in OT.

After profoundly analyzing this game, I have concluded that the reason for this Devil's success tonight is your GDT.

So, my friend, you have a new job. It takes a lot of effort to create a GDT, but you proved you can do it.

All Devils fans, including myself, look forward to your next one, hopefully during this home stand.

Thanks for the effort, great job.
Thank you. I do appreciate the nice words, but I’m not sure the GDT is the reason for the win, if only because we lost the last one I did which was the Rangers last month.

But we are 1-1 now when I do the GDT.

I gotta admit. I’m a bit conflicted on my theme for the next GDT, but I have two whole days to think about it.

I’ve had one pretty good idea, but I may wanna keep that one in my picked for a little longer. And maybe just a little closer to Christmas.

It’s Scrooge themed, but probably not what you think it is when you hear Scrooge themed.

He should've said "Me and Bratt are like Peanut Butter and Jelly. We're both Peanut Butter while our opponents are just Jelly"

Get it?

GET IT??

(okay I'll go sit in the corner now and contemplate life.)

Big win! Anything can happen in OT as it's so wild, but I think the Devils are the best 3v3 team in the league. Which is great since the shootout on the otherhand is more or less a guaranteed loss.

But why isn't this team playing like they did in the third all the time?? These few moments (this 3rd, columbus 3rd, buffalo and pittsburgh games) are rare glimpses of the last season's team. This team could be so good, but they insist playing like ass most of the first periods. Is it a coaching thing? Youth / inexperience? Arrogance?

Vitek was great! Goaltending is all about consistancy so few great games doesn't matter if you are terrible most of the time. BUT he's looked good for couple of games now so maybe he's getting back to form or at least some confidence back (which is great since Ruff wants to keep putting him up there).

Nemec is incredible! Having a great shot and scoring points is good and all, but none of these young D in the league look as solid and comfortable as Nemec.

I thought Timo was better. The best case scenario would be that he would finally click with Nico, so we could keep Bratt and Toffoli with Hughes. I've been trying to think where he could fit in the lineup and while I'd be ok with him in the 3rd line with Holtz, Haula, Mercer whoever, I really would just forget that we are paying him 9m and put together a line of Meier McLeod Bastian/Lazar, call it a 3rd line if you wish and/or play it more than your regular 4th. I think he needs to be the star of his line with hard working defensively solid guys who still have enough skill to set him up.
