Good win by the Devils. Giving up one goal warms my heart. Jack on the winner looked like he said to himself no big deal. One point in 4 games. I must be better. That’s the vibe I got from him. That’s why he’s a superstar
He better be better.

Bratt and Nico's backs are hurting from all the carrying (of the team) they've been doing.

Btw a nice assist by Holtz on our game tying goal. He made that play by fighting his way for the puck behind the net. He’s being physically aggressive on the forecheck and that wasn’t something I expected of him before the season.

Also regarding Nemec. Anyone else think he reminds them of Nic Lidstrom? The way he’s built and his way of moving and his instinct for where to go on the ice kind of recall him for me. Even though Nemec shoots right.
No.

He reminds me of Simon Nemec.

Player comparisons don't do anything for me as they're never true in reality.

But one thing is for sure : This kid is the real deal.

Given Jack's insane points per game pace he was due for some regression. He was on pace for something like 140 plus points for a while. He's now on pace for something above 120 which feels more realistic to me. He's still third in the league in points per game behind only Kucherov and McDavid which is probably where he belongs for now.

I can’t fault Jack for not keeping up a McDavid pace scoring wise but he did have a lot of stupid decisions with the puck last night. Maybe he was playing ill…

Not a bad call on Lidstrom comparison, I see it too.

Life has been hectic the past couple of days, so I didn’t get to fully enjoy this one last night. Continue picking up points in bunches and keep things going.

It sounds like Timo had his best game in a while. I’m glad he ended up on Nico’s wing, I think that’s where he should be going forward.

I can’t believe how lucky we are to have two young studs on defense the way we do. It’s going to be beautiful watching these guys continue to develop before our very eyes.

Yea he seemed to throw every pass in someone's general direction regardless of the player being ready in anyway or actively covered at the time. Out of the passes that actually connected, most seemed to completely handcuff whoever they were meant for, for one reason or another.

Nemec and Bratt had a really nice play in the 3rd period. Bratt kinda got turned around near the blueline and the puck poked free. Nemec didn't hesitate and jumped right up to grab the puck and try to make a play. Bratt immediately recognized and dropped back to cover the point. Once Boston got it out of the zone, Bratt was playing D and Nemec was backchecking. Bratt kept good position skating backwards keeping the puck carrier to the outside and Nemec worked towards the center to take away the pass.

Not really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of thigs, just seemed like really great intuition/communication from the both of them. Two very smart players on the same wavelength making good decisions. That sort of attention to detail will really help clean up the defense and transition, and help take this team to the next level.
If anything, I think that demonstrated just how far Bratt has come in terms of playing Defense.

I think that's probably a quality vs quantity thing because when it came to rush chances in general we were among the best at limiting them but the xG of those rush chances was near the bottom. Also breakaway wise we did give up the most.
Ah ok, thanks

You mean Defensemen actually help out Goaltenders?

But seriously, Nemec was doing his job as a d-man here.

Can't believe this kid is just 19. Unreal.
lol it was also Vanny wasn’t a total weak boy last night. A still shaky but he didn’t let it screw him over. Nemec def helped him there big time.

Nemecs underlyings last night weren’t great, but he still had good moments.

Siegs was a big drag last night. I thought Nemec had a few rookie moments, but more than made up for them with his great ones.
