I wouldn't trade Grizz for Hamilton no joke! Carlo is going to be a top 2 Dman!I'm already quite happy with Carlos' development and he'll be getting better every year. No way would I trade him for Hamilton.

I don’t see it. 4 mil? They would be crazy to give him that much.brady skjei at age 24 with 169 games under his belt just got 5.25 million for his next 6 seasons
brandon carlo will turn 22 before his next contract and should have around 230-240 games under his belt.
skjei averages 4.5 goals a year... a bit better for assists around 27 or so... so hes barely a 30 point guy at this point.
carlo without any pp time has just the 6 goals all in his rookie year. only 16 assists over 2 seasons...
so the easy objection is carlo doesn't have the offense skjei does.... but what will carlo produce this year? could he put up 25 points?
skjei just got 5.24 mill for 6 years. I think if im carlos agent I don't settle for a penny less than 4 mill for a 4 year deal
if boston wants more term the ask goes up significantly
I never heard that quote from Ray. I find it interesting that he knows how many games it takes to find out if a defenseman is going to be good but he doesn't know how many drinks it takes to be three times the legal limit.
I'd like to see Carlo take Cams advice and quit playing soft. I like that Cam called him out on his lack of physical play. You would think that a guy with his size would be willing to use it to his advantage without having to be embarrassed by the president.
His last couple of weeks before the injury were excellent. He was aggressive, seemed much bigger in our zone all of a sudden.
This is the year Carlo makes a noticeable step up in his game. As long as he is able to stay healthy, any non-believers in Carlo will become believers. It is going to be a big year for him.
LMAO Leafs fans in the trading section asking what we would want for Carlo
LMAO GTFO
Shoooooooooo give us a 1st, 2nd/3rd, top prospect and NHL ready player
I hope he does think he has to be a bone crusher. We have way too few of those on this roster and it's not like the rest of his game is that great. To me, this is the best news of the whole off-season. I may have to buy a Carlo jersey if he holds true with this.i hope he doesnt go into this season thinking he has to be this bone crushing defender.. he is solid.. i think he underestimates his own strength.. my hope that he gets tougher to play against while maintaining all the good habits that kept him on this team throughout the last couple of years.. oh, and a small uptick in some points would never be a bad thing
I agree. If he plays his game while showing some of the physical play he showed some last year he is a no doubt top 4 D, which I believe he is now anyways. He could be the breakout player this season for them.i hope he doesnt go into this season thinking he has to be this bone crushing defender.. he is solid.. i think he underestimates his own strength.. my hope that he gets tougher to play against while maintaining all the good habits that kept him on this team throughout the last couple of years.. oh, and a small uptick in some points would never be a bad thing
Agreed. This is what we need out of him... If he can develop into a steady d-man, a bit of a mean streak and learn to hit effectively... I'm all for it.
Wouldn't you? (be like eff this, and play angry)To me, it was like a switch was flipped in him vs the Penguins on March 1. That game was brutal. That was the night Chara fought Oleksiak at the end of a monster PK shift. At some point that night, Crosby got away with punching Carlo right in the face. It seemed like from that night forward he started playing angry.

I'm pretty hard on the guy at times, but last year on occasion he started to act like he cared. So many times you'd see a scrum in front of the Bruins net, and Carlo would be picking his ass not getting involved, however towards the end of the year he started to show a more aggressive side, especially considering his offensive game is very lackluster.
If he can use his size (6'5', 208 lbs) and be a more aggressive D-man, sign me up!
