Calgary should be tough, although we did recently beat them.
1 more win and we're in the Grey Cup though!
________________________________________________________

If the Bombers expect to beat Calgary, they better get their vertical passing game going --like lot's of passes for about 15 to 25 yards. To think we'll beat Calgary by grinding it out on the ground -"think again"--we'll get beaten badly. We basically just beat a team with no quarterback.

Get some passing plays and routes ready Paul La Police, or it will be a long day in Calgary. Change up the playbook, let Nichols throw downfield, mix it up, a couple screens etc--and I like our chances. Leave it the same as today--"we lose."

As long as the O-line give Harris a opening to run the Bombers will be successful in Calgary.

Harris is a beast. Nice to see a Winnipeg boy play at the top of the CFL level.

If the Bombers are to win against Calgary, they better have a "balanced attack" and not think they are going to run all over the Stamps-"forget it" The running game only works if your passing game is working as well. Otherwise the linebackers move up, to the line of scrimage and take away your ground game.

Yes, they need to use Harris, and the O line has to play great to open holes, but Nichols will have to use his receivers, and not expect to win just with a ground game. A proper balanced attack with passing and running could get the job done. Nichols is a very accurate passer, and they need to get their air attack going --"this is critical."

We need to have those 15 and 20 yard passes going, and the odd long one. If we do this, I really like our chances. I we don't, I just don't see us winning.

Yep, no one in green should complain about reffing. Their entire passing offense today was predicated on holding and OPI to get Roosevelt open.

Jeffcoat hit wasn't targeting and Bridge was a runner on that play , well out of the pocket. Yes he should have broke down and form tackled, but marginal penalty if it would have been called. He goes for the hit shoulder to shoulder and Bridge dips when he throws.

It was a pretty clear head to head hit. It looks really dirty on the replay. He's going to get a max fine like Willis or a suspension. Not necessary at all on the play (especially with 8 seconds left in the game).

There's a gif of the hit in the link below.

Totally agree.
If Harris gives us 100+ yards on the ground then Nichols will have to do the rest in the air. A good running game opens up the passing game.

Point is if as long as the Bombers have a good running game the passing game will do the rest because Calgary's D will be open up to produce more offence.

What's your excuse?
The bombers won this game before a ball was kicked.

They went ultra-conservative on offense, because they knew SASK would struggle to score. They've struggled with collaros in, so it would be bad with Bridge.

The point is, that's a game you play not to lose, protect the football, and don't do anything stupid. Nichols learned from the Banjo Bowl he isn't a gunslinger, and doesn't have to be for this team to succeed.

Obviously the game plan will change with bo Levi on the other side, but this game went exactly to script for the bombers.

The great running game will feature in the Stamps' game planning, which could be a good thing for the Bombers who will need to open up the passing playbook for the upcoming game. They'll need to go downfield vs. the Stamps so it will help if the Stamps are keyed in on stopping the run and the Bombers can use some play action. I also like the way the Bombers can bring Demski and Dressler into the "running" game to loosen up the D, and Streveler for short sets.

Chris Jones was on the sidelines with the dark sunglasses and the T shirt and the entire wardrobe had me ranting at a party. I was alone on an island with my rant thinking he was being a poser. There is an outside change I need professional help with these type of odd outburst moments.

Its time the Stamps get knocked off their perch and the Bombers are just the team to do it. Also seems like we picked up a few injuries yesterday, hopefully nothing to serious.

That replay is deceiving though. On the other side you can see how when he lines it up he leads with the shoulder. The head contact is incidental. No doubt the head contact is there and should be fined but it's clear by how he lines up the hit the head contact is accidental, not intentional.

What perch would that be? The one where they lose the Grey Cup to crappier teams two years in a row? This is the year Calgary actually ends up on a perch, methinks.

Jovon Santos-Knox and Kenbrell Thompkins both moved to 1 game IR for tomorrow's game. Nothing compared to Stamps injury woes, but they are certainly not nothing losses. Wild and Wilson don't bring the same speed or dynamic play to the LB corps. And Thompkins is guy who adds a nice secondary mid to long range threat to Adams. Lankford is a horrendous receiver and Nelson is very unproven.

Thompkins is more of a possession guy and outside of a few games he's barely been involved in the offense, especially when Dressler has been playing at full steam. It's a bit surprising that they wouldn't add Flanders but it's likely Lapo wants the speed for his gameplan. Whichever of Lankford or Nelson gets on the roster will have maybe one play run for them in the whole game.

Hopefully Demski plays as well as he did the last time they played Calgary because he stunk last week.

Interesting that Calgary is going with Rogers and Ambles over Davaris Daniels. Rogers has had drop issues. Ambles has looked decent the last 4-5 games. Calgary's entire receiving crew is 6'2-6'5 and 220 lbs.

Thompkins play is tracking just like his NFL career a few good games then see you later, thought that Wilson played not to bad, while Wild is at the end of his career, simple game plan, pressure BLM you'll know where to find him, use Harris early and often both running and receiving, score more points , and celebrate win:thumbu:

Looking forward to a close and exciting game today.

Hope the refs do at least an adequate job and don't factor into the final outcome.

REALLY hope our PBP guy is Chris Cuthbert and not Rod Black!

GO BLUE!!!
