Lets be honest, nobody who scores at a 15 goal pace while playing with McDavid is the best winger to complement him. I think its the other way around. McDavid might be the best centre to complement Yak, because he does everything for him.

Nope. A 4th and a D level prospect (Gernat). Hopefully Yak scores 15 and we get a better pick, but none against the Oilers please.

At least there is no Backes to contend with anymore! That guy used to run our show every game, although they have Perron again now, so Talbot or whoever is in goal will have to watch out for his usual shenanigans.

We're already the laughing stock of the league, it would be nice if Yak didn't have a big game tomorrow night.
Just keep getting those wins, this team needs desperately to learn how to grind out defensive games and not just expect the goalie to bail them out.

Last year they would have crapped the bed vs the Flames in the 1st 2 games of the season... bounced back to beat up the Sabres (giving us all false hope) and then lost a close one to the Canes.
This year they are sloppy but winning.... opposite what they've done in the past.
I say their record this year will be the opposite of last season:
43-31-8 for a total of 94 pts... should put them right in the playoff hunt.

I'm the biggest Nuge fan there is but man am I looking for something, anything to show me he gives a damn this season. So far he's been the weakest player on the puck in each game, falling a lot, caught out of position a bunch of times. I've been thinking he may be sulking and trying to force a change with his wingers, Kassian is tough to play with, slow decision making inside his own blueline and unpredictable. And Benoit is also tough to play with and seems to be chasing the play a lot and taking lots of penalties, talk about an unlucky draw for wingers. I love Kassian as a 4th liner but Nuge deserves much better if we expect him to produce. Hoping he starts to turn it around, but I'm not sure if it will happen until he has some better support.

Maybe the Blues will take the night off like EDM did against Buffalo and in the third against the Canes? Then again i'd rather them bring it to see if we can at least make a game of it and see where we are when everyone is on the same page and working hard. Let's hope all that size will start paying off.

Not feeling too confident about this game. Need our big boys to show up or else we won't stand a chance.
Can't see the Oilers beating the blues. St Louis is just too good, have a far better defense and judging by the performance of the Oilers, especially not even being ready to play when the first period starts, it could be a real embarrassing one here.

Nice to see Yakupov playing on the 1st line already, instead of a 4th line checker. Show them Yak, show them!
I couldn't see Vancover beating the Blues as well, but it happened.
That said, of course this will be by far the most difficult game of the season and everyone needs to be on top to get away with two points here. I have a feeling that the players will show up big time for this game, they know this will be the first real test and they will want to show everyone that they can play the game on this level. Who was it that called the team out after the Buffalo game saying (more or less) that 'the players were not ready because the game was not "exciting" like it was playing the first two games against CGY and that they had to get used to the idea of playing as well in high profile games as in low profile games". This is a high profile game and I think we will see a different team tonight than for the previous couple of games.
