Realistically, they have to move out some salary to accommodate Maroon.
Wouldn't be shocked if they were tying to move Steen.

i highly doubt it. also steen has a NTC.Realistically, they have to move out some salary to accommodate Maroon.

A defenseman needs to be moved at some point. If Maroon was willing to sign for $2m then we could work it so that we don't have to make a move until camp, but Schmaltz losing his waiver exemption means that it is a matter of time before we lose someone.I would move Gunner. Nice guy, but his skills could be used elsewhere. Would also free up space for a younger Dman.
I agree, but my worry is exactly what VG posted. While I think that’s unlikely, it would be sadgood problem to have
Who is trading for a soon to be 32 year old defenseman coming off an ACL surgery with a 6 month recovery timetable (OCT/NOV) in July?

in our heartsI mean...ok? Where exactly does he fit?
Why would you wanna lowball with your 1st pair dmen? Please don’t undercut Edmundson just to sign Maroon.
won't d.a. have to make an additional trade just to make signing work? i find it unlikely maroon will sign at an aav that fits under our cap without additional movesIf this signing goes through, DA is going all in this season - and that’s impressive given that the Blues haven’t mortgaged the future to go all in. DA has really set up the team great for the foreseeable future - the Blues could conceivably be “all in” for the next few seasons without any additional trades.

reduced salary and likely reduced role? heck of a hometown discount for us if trueI think the best part about this is that Maroon might actually take a low contract to play for the Blues.

I doubt there is any trade market for those guys most likely waiver fodder. If they are taken...whatever. if not, enjoy texasMaybe, but if so, I suspect it will be a low level trade like shipping out a Thorburn or Sundqvist.
Dealing guys like that doesn't really open any cap space as whomever replaces them on roster makes at least as much.Maybe, but if so, I suspect it will be a low level trade like shipping out a Thorburn or Sundqvist.
