What is that monstrosity of a statue between the two jerseys?
I mean, it's pretty clear he is mentally ill.Imagine having all the talent in the world and finding a way to just utterly screw everything up and costing yourself millions of dollars for just dumb personal reasons.
Dude had a good thing in Pittsburgh, burned it. Set himself up to get paid like crazy in Oakland/Vegas and burned that, too. And then seemingly played some 4D chess to land in New England only to **** it up there beyond belief.
What a dumbass.
Eli Manning will probably get in to the HOF but he shouldn't. At no point was he even a top 5 active QB. He had a very good career but he's a compiler.
Joe Namath isn't in the HOF for what he did as a QB. He's in more as a contributor to the game. It's been said that the merger never happens if the Colts won SB 3. Rumor has it that SB 3 would have been the final one if the Colts had won that game, and the entire history of football changes. The guarantee is stuff of legends. It's the football equivalent to Babe Ruth's called HR in the WS, except with real evidence that it happened.Namath is in the Hall of Fame with lesser stats and a worse won/loss record. He is there for one of the biggest upsets ever. Eli was a part of one of the biggest upsets in the modern era, plus he did it twice to the same GOAT QB/dynasty. You beat the best of the best in your era TWICE for the title? Stats and other trivial things like where he ranked among his peers are practically irrelevant for any further debate of his merits. Unless debating the greatest QB's of all-time no longer includes the question of "Yeah, but how many rings does ______ have?" Is it all about the rings or is it not? He wasn't some Trent Dilfer-level game manager either. He made plays in those Super Bowl wins.
