Blackhawks trade rumors

Rumor #1: Hawks will look to trade Sharp before season starts
PSharp-trade-rumors-610x400.jpg

Patrick Sharp has won 3 Stanley Cup as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, and his cup win in 2015 may be his last in the Windy City. GM Jeremy Roenick announced that the Blackhawks are looking to keep the core younger, after watching Marian Hossa retire unexpectedly in the offseason, Roenick doesn't want to lose more superstar players for nothing.

Rumor #2: Hawks may trade Raanta
Antti-Raanta-2013_3059568.jpg

With a solid backup option now in the system, the Blackhawks may look to move Raanta who went 2-6-1 last year. Tokarski was 4-1-1 last year and also played 5 games in the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals Vs. the Rangers.

Rumor #3: Chicago looking to deal Brent Seabrook?
STANLEY_CUP_BLACKHAWKS_BRUINS_HOCKEY_39908085.jpg

In his first full season with the Hawks, David Rundblad impressed management and fans with 11 goals and 29 assists for 40 points. Hawks Defenseman Adam Clendenning is also expected to make the jump to the NHL this year. Does Hawks management trust Rundblad and Clendenning enough to get rid of the veteran, shutdown D-Man?

Marcel Goc|C|33|80|1 year 2 way|$0.575M

After those signings I trade Kuemper.

Igor Bobkov (78) G, put on waivers by Anaheim after this trade, so I pick him and he'll be the backup for Grubauer.

No trade @ deadline. Neither team :shakehead

The owner wanted 47W, I finish the season just with 44. So I better have to go to the conference finals, if not, I can be fired by Ted Leonsis.

McDavid 5 points better than Pastrnak. Normally is good for Calder.
Most W for Holtby

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but is it at all possible to keep the updates to one or two posts per season?

My log posts can some times get pretty lengthy, so this is a bit hypocritical, but I agree with you here.

If your goal is to get people to read your log consistently, it is probably a good idea from holding off from posting any more than 1-2 updates a day to give people a chance to catch up and read it all.

I disagree. In always into your stories lol. You always seem to scramble, it's pretty cool actually. I'd like to see a scenario where you're not a GM who's job is on the line though.

Ha, I'm not saying that my posts are bad, I'm pretty happy with them.

I'm just saying that it is hypocritical of me to recommend people keep their stuff to a minimum, since my posts tend to be lengthy compared to a lot of logs.

My point is, even if someone doing a log has stuff ready to post, it is better to hold off and keep it down to 1-2 posts a day. If you dump 6 posts at once, people are more than likely to skim them.

It is fun to make a GM log, but I'm guessing most people's motivation for posting their log is to have other people read it and enjoy it. So with that in mind, it is a good idea to go at a good pace and not dump the Atlas Shrugged equivalent of hockey GM logs on people every day.

Plus....it is a courtesy to other people who post in this thread so that their new stuff doesn't get bumped pages back.

My log posts can some times get pretty lengthy, so this is a bit hypocritical, but I agree with you here.

If your goal is to get people to read your log consistently, it is probably a good idea from holding off from posting any more than 1-2 updates a day to give people a chance to catch up and read it all.

Lengthy is fine. It's when people spread them out over 4-8 consecutive posts. No one wants to see that. It's way easier to follow in one clean, organized post with different headings. There's no need to make a post after each event. Write it down in your phone, notepad, whatever, then hop onto the computer and organize it and write it out for here.

Again, lengthy is completely fine if it's kept in one clean, organized post. Spreading it out over consecutive posts of 5+ is just overkill. 2 is fine, but still pushing it, imo.

TRADE DEADLINE UPDATE
Team Record: 36-23-5
Ottawa had a disastrous start to their season. At one point, they occupied the last place in the Atlantic division. The team has since rebounded, and might be the hottest team in the NHL. They have a 10 point hold on a playoff spot going into the trade deadline.

Ottawa explored their options at the deadline, but opted to remain put with their current roster. Turris is injured for 7 weeks, which may result in him missing the first round of the playoffs. There was talks about picking up another center in order to cover for Turris during the first round, but given Ottawa already moved their first round pick in the Chicago deal for Keith, the costs for a center were too high.

The team opted to hold on to Lehner. The feeling was they could get the same return for him at the draft if they choose to trade him, and without a goalie ready to take his place, moving Lehner would be too risky as they'd end up forced to start an AHLer if Hammond were to go down with an injury.
______________________________

END OF SEASON UPDATE
Team Record: 47-30-5

Despite Ryan, Turris, Cizikas, and Methot being injured for a majority of the post trade deadline schedule, Ottawa's squad managed to show a ton of character, and clinch a playoff spot.

Turris and Methot both were cleared in time for the playoffs where Ottawa will match up with rival Montreal Canadiens.

Keith and Karlsson will be split up in order to attempt to make Ottawa's defense harder to play against.

______________________________
ROUND 1 VERSUS MONTREAL (45-26-11)

______________________________

GAME 1
-With Price injured and Tokarski starting, Ottawa took advantage and won the game 3-2. Ottawa had offensive contributions from all three of their top lines.
-Montreal outshot Ottawa 32-24, and Hammond took over from where he left off last year as a clutch playoff goalie by posting a .938 save percentage.
-Ottawa leads the series 1-0.
______________________________

GAME 2
-Carey Price returned, but appeared rusty, allowing 2 goals on the first 4 shots of the game.
-Ottawa failed to provide Hammond with offensive support, only mustering 11 shots on goal in the first two periods of the game.
-Near the end of the second, Ottawa allowed 4 straight goals in quick succession.
-Ottawa was able to make a comeback, scoring twice in the third to tie the game, but it wasn't enough, as Montreal tied the series by winning 5-4 in OT. Montreal outshot Ottawa 44-27. Lazar had a 3 point game.
-Series tied 1-1.

______________________________

GAME 3
-In an attempt to generate more offense, Keith is back on with Karlsson, Prince who has 3 points in 2 playoff games is being swapped with MacArthur and given a chance on the Konecny line.
-The line shifting pays off as Ottawa was able to nearly match Montreal in shots on goal. After being deadlocked 1-1, a rare Marc Methot goal put Ottawa ahead 2-1. They continued dominating from there going up 4-1, and eventually winning 4-2.
-Another poor game by Price. Hammond bounced back and had a great game with a .931 save percentage.
-Ottawa leads the series 2-1.
______________________________

GAME 4
-Conacher was injured in Game 3. As a result, 77oa prospect Tobias Lindberg will dress in his place. Lindberg played 5 games this season as a call up with the Senators where he managed to score two goals.
-Carey Price had his first great game of the series with a 26 save shutout.
-Andrew Hammond stopped 34 of 36 shots and posted a .944 save percentage but it wasn't enough.
-The series is now tied 2-2.
______________________________

GAME 5
-The injury bug continues to bite the Senators. Duncan Keith will be out the rest of the series with a sore foot.
-In a statement game, Ottawa outshoots Montreal 37-17. Hammond shuts out the Canadiens, and Ottawa manages to put 5 goals past Carey Price for a 5-0 win.
-Hoffman has a monster 3 point game and Lindberg in only his second NHL playoff game gets his first point with an assist.
-Ottawa leads the series 3-2.
______________________________

GAME 6
-Ottawa has a chance to close out the series against Montreal.
-Carey Price rebounds with his second shut out of the series to carry Montreal to a 1-0 win. Shots are relatively even at 29-28.
-The series is now tied 3-3 and as a result will now go to a game 7.
______________________________

GAME 7
-Keith and Cizikas are both medically cleared for game 7, but are still suffering symptoms from their injuries.
-Methot opened the game's scoring with his second goal of the series.
-Going into the third period, Ottawa had a 2-0 lead, but Montreal climbed back into the game in order to take it to overtime.
-Things looked dire in overtime for the Senators after a controversial boarding call was awarded to Montreal.
-Ottawa managed to kill off the penalty thanks to some great saves by Andrew Hammond.
-5 minutes into OT, Turris deflected a Puempel shot five hole past Carey Price to win the game for Ottawa 3-2 and eliminate Montreal from the Stanley Cup playoffs.
-Ottawa wins the series in 7 games and eliminates the Montreal Canadiens.
______________________________

For the first time in well over a decade, the battle of Ontario will commence. The Senators now have to shake off their rivals the Toronto Maple Leafs in order to advance past the second round and to the Eastern Conference final.
______________________________

image.jpg

______________________________

GAME 1
-Hammond has his first bad game of the playoffs allowing 4 goals on 22 shots.
-Ottawa loses 5-2.
-Toronto leads the series 1-0

______________________________

GAME 2
-Ottawa suffers another big loss. They are absolutely embarrassed by the Maple Leafs.
-Hammond has another terrible game and lets in 6 goals on 34 shots.
-The Leafs take a commanding 2-0 series lead, and fans everywhere speculate on whether the Senators are cursed when it comes to facing the Maple Leafs in the playoffs.

______________________________

GAME 3
-BREAKING NEWS: Robin Lehner to start game 3. Hammond is out.
-Ottawa shuffles their line up in response to the two big losses where they were heavily outscored.
-In the biggest game of his career, Lehner came up huge and carried the Senators to a 2-1 overtime win. Ottawa outshot Toronto 37-21.
-Methot scored his third goal of the playoffs, Konecny scored the winner in overtime.
-Toronto now leads the series 2-1.

______________________________

GAME 4
-Ryan is medically cleared for the game but is still injured and will be playing hurt.
-Lehner starts his second straight game. He has another good game saving 32 shots.
-Methot scores in his second straight game, Patrick Eaves who was a thoughtless depth throw in in the Gravel trade with Buffalo earlier in the year has a huge game by notching two goals.
-Ottawa wins 4-2 to tie the series 2-2. After Hammond choked, Lehner has helped rejuvenate the Senators and turn the series around.

______________________________

GAME 5
-Ottawa's line up is fully healthy for the first time in the playoffs. There is optimism among Senators fans that they can win three straight to take their first lead of the series.
-Lehner starts his third straight game of the playoffs. There is no chance Hammond goes in at this point.
-Ottawa outshoots Toronto 42-28 but is unable to beat Reimer who has a hot game. Lehner plays well, but all he can do is save the pucks, he can't win if the forwards don't score. Ottawa loses 2-0 to go down 3-2 in the series.

______________________________

GAME 6
-Ottawa has a relatively young team and tensions are high. They are reminded of last year when after what seemed like a super hot playoff run, they had the carpet pulled from under them by the New York Rangers in a round 2 game 6 elimination.
-Lehner starts once again.
-After coming off a game 5 shutout, Reimer ***** the bed and gets pulled half way through the game.
-In a statement game, Ottawa outshoots Toronto 39-30 and wins 7-3.
-Ottawa fans everywhere freak out as Lehner gets injured with 10 minutes remaining the game. Hammond goes in and despite facing only a few shots lets in a goal. The goal might be insignificant in getting Toronto the win, but it may very well be the final crack in what is left of Hammond's confidence. In just a bit over two games this series, Hammond has let in 12 goals and now it looks like Ottawa will be depending on him for a game 7 win.

______________________________

GAME 7
-Dreidger 80oa recalled from the AHL to backup Hammond.
-Hammond has to start game 7 after being destroyed by Toronto in the first 2 games and not playing since. As a result of Hammond choking twice in a row against Toronto, there is a contingency of Senators fans who think Dreidger should start.
-Hammond redeems himself by having a good game. Despite that, Ottawa and Toronto end up tied 2-2 at the end of regulation. Ottawa will go into their second straight game 7 OT.
-Less than a minute into OT, former Maple Leaf Clarke MacArthur scores on a rebound off an O-zone faceoff.
-Ottawa wins 3-2 to take the series in 7. Hammond redeems his game 1 and 2 collapses by getting the win for Ottawa. The curse is over, and the red hot Senators have beat the Maple Leafs to advance to the conference final for the first time in a decade!

EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL VS THE WASHINGTON CAPITALS
In a dramatic season, after making one of the most controversial trades in Senators history, GM Danielpalfredsson's Senators have climbed all the way from the basement of the league to the Eastern Conference final. It has been a decade since the Senators last got this far in the Stanley Cup playoffs. If they want to make it to the second Cup Final in team history, they have to get through Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.

______________________________

GAME 1
-After being injured in the Toronto series, it is revealed that Robin Lehner will be out for the remainder of the playoffs. Hammond will start the remainder of the games with Driedger as the backup.
-Ottawa blows a 2-0 lead going into the third, the game ends up going to OT tied at 3-3. After the second OT Fehr scores to win the game for Washington. Hammond doesn't play at the level the Senators need if they are going to make it to the Cup Final.
-Washington leads 1-0.

______________________________

GAME 2
-Once again, Ottawa starts strong but collapses in the third period. Ottawa nearly blows a 4-1 lead, but outshoot Washington 39 to 28 and manage to hold on to a 4-3 regulation win.
-Hammond has another poor game. Senators fans all over the internet begin touting Dreidger's fantastic AHL numbers as a reason for him to come in and take over from Hammond.
-Puempel has a 3 point game and the Senators win to tie the series 1-1.

______________________________

GAME 3
-Karlsson comes out big and scores on the first shot of the game.
-Half way through the second, Washington takes a lead for the first time in the series. Ottawa fights back, but Washington manages to win in a third straight 1 goal game.
-Washington wins 3-2 to take a 2-1 series lead.

______________________________

GAME 4
-After being torn apart in the media for his unspectacular play and being accused of eating one too many hamburgers, Andrew Hammond has his first great game of the series, only allowing 1 goal on 29 shots.
-Pageau puts up 2 points, Ottawa wins 4-1 to tie the series at 2 games a piece.

______________________________

GAME 5
-Ottawa turns things around after being mediocre for a majority of the series and puts on a dominating performance, up 4-0 going into the third. Washington managed to score 2 goals in the third, but it wasn't enough to get back into the game.
-Holtby was pulled after 12 shots only letting in 1 goal. Speculation is that he might be injured. Justin Peters came in in relief and lost the game for Washington.
-Puempel had another big 2 point game. He is quickly cementing himself as Ottawa's premier young sniper ahead of Hoffman, Prince, and Ryan.

______________________________

GAME 6
-Ottawa has a chance to close out the series.
-Peters starts for Washington as a result of Holtby being injured.
-Washington goes up 3-0 early, but Ottawa scores 3 straight goals in the second period to tie the game.
-Ottawa goes up 4-3 in the third, but with a minute left Washington scores to tie the game and bring it to OT. Ottawa appears to be on the brink of once again collapsing late in the game.
-Mark Stone scores 4 minutes into OT off of a rebound from a Marc Methot shot. Ottawa beats Washington in 6 games and makes it to the cup final for only the second time in team history.
-Puempel gets the 1st star with two goals. Neither Hammond or Peters had good games.
-With Lehner still injured, Hammond is taking a beating from fans and media for his unspectacular play. It seems as if Ottawa won in spite of Andrew Hammond and not because of him.

______________________________

It appears as though the Duncan Keith trade has paid off as the Ottawa Senators have crafted a team that has made it to the Stanley Cup final.....not so fast though.....the Cup Final may decide how history treats the Keith trade as the Ottawa Senators will face.....wait for it.....you guessed it.....Mika Zibanejad, Patrick Wiercioch, and the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup final!

-- Despite winning the Stanley Cup, the Sharks are looking to get younger to stay competitive. Despite the re-signings, this could mean Phil Kessel, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Logan Couture are names that are moved in the near future.

My next Sharks update is probably the most active I've ever been as a GM. It's crazy. Like... really, really crazy.

EDIT: a bit more of the Sharks, and then I'll move on to another team. Any suggestions?

I completed my next three San Jose seasons before retirement, which I won't post yet, I'll post them over the week. Then, I'm going to create several 2016 eligible prospects before starting my next one, which will likely be New Jersey.

Prospects to create:

- Auston Matthews.
- Matthew Tkachuk.
- Max Jones.
- Chad Krys.
- Dmitri Sokolov.
- Tyson Jost.
- Alexander Nylander.
- Olli Juolevi.
- Kieffer Bellows.
- Dante Fabbro.
- Clayton Keller.
- Charlie McAvoy.
- Ryan Lindgren.
- Carl Grundstrom.
- Nick Pastujov.

These are going to be a ***** to create.
