In 30 thoughts it said AZ wanted McCarron, 1st and another pick for Hanzal. That's basically what Habs fans want us to take for Duchene. Good luck.

Nothing about us other than wondering if Washington is a fit for our big guns

If free, sure. If you have to pay anything, probably not.

Probably wouldn't cost much. Apparently he wants out and the Wings are trying to make it happen.

Gotta aim high to start but that's a ridiculous ask for a 30 year old impending UFA.

Does support my stubborn belief that if a Montreal trade happens it'll involve Matt and one of our vets (or Greg) for Serg, McCarron, Scherbak, a pick, and a cap dump.

It's a lot, but they are asking that because they can. It's still a month away, but going into the deadline so many teams are still competitive, and Arizona knows they have two of the best rentals that will be on the market in Hanzal and Stone.

Let's just keep hoping that the teams who've been dropping lately get hot and the teams in playoff spots or right out side of them slump a little, while the Yotes and Joe keep up their high asking prices. Even if they can't catch us for the worst record, a team having the bottom fall out now will hurt us as we approach the TDL.

Exactly. We should all be actively cheering for more parity.

IMO a 7th is too much... maybe a conditional based on re-signing or being on next year's roster. He has size and can skate... that is really about all.

Jurco is all tools no toolbox and his tools are rusty and blunt.

PS

As for Habs rumor, Bug Mac has been disappointing, plays smaller than he is and they are forcing him at centre despite the fact that he doesn't look too good there.

I'd like to believe the current standings help the Avs and keep the asking price high but I don't know why teams would be interested in these guys. The Coyotes actually have some valuable rentals available.

I did enjoy the guy opposite Jeremy Roenick on NBC last night saying a 4th at best was probable value for Iginla. Cheers you right up.

It helps with a potential Duchene/Landeskog trade as well if the only options for TDL additions are the yotes rentals, our crap, or one of our core guys. If someone's feeling desperate for a move that actually changes things, the price gap between Dutchy/Landy and one of the yotes trio could make them more open to paying up for one of our core pieces.

Plus our crap will look better on better teams that they give a crap about playing for; especially if they can be kept in the roles that they stand a chance of being useful in. Beauch/Tyutin as bottom pairing PK-specialists, Iggy as a bottom line PK specialist, Mitchell as a 12/13th man that provides center depth on a team that can get him to give a s***, etc.

Jonesy, a fourth is about right for Iggy, the guy has 6 goals getting fed PP minutes and contributes absolutely nothing anywhere else.

In fairness their sales pitch was better than that. Sounded very convincing. There's going to be a lot of buyers. NHL GMs are idiots. We're going to be rich.

From a play standpoint...I can see a 4th from Iggy. But it's not like anyone else on the team is setting the world on fire. He would probably have a few more points on a team that isn't a complete disaster and I think GMs know that too. I still think we can fetch a 2nd for him.

Not just any 30 year old pending UFA either. A 30 year old pending UFA with a career high 41 points.

LeBrun says, according to other teams, the prices in Colorado and Arizona are currently crazy high. Sounds about right a month before the deadline.

Good as far as I am concerned. Looking at the standings, how many more teams will be definitive sellers at the deadline? Even the 3rd and 4th worst teams are not that far out.

Do what Boston did at the draft that year they picked three plugs in a row and just own the entire 3rd round. "And now with eight consecutive picks, the Colorado Avalanche."

Good.

And I think Iggy is going to LA for some prospect that they have been watching in Ontario. Won't be a pick.

Draft them all at once, too. And even if it's the 3rd round, call all the kids in and get a team photo on the podium and make **** sure Bettman is there to take the photo, too.

I'll say Iginla gets a 2nd round pick based on name value alone + retention. Even though it'll be stupid, there is going to be some team out there who thinks Iginla still has something left in the tank and be willing to outbid another team with a 2nd round pick.

I'd be happy with a 5th round pick for Iginla, but make it a 3rd if the team reaches the Conference Final and a 2nd if the team reaches the Cup Final.
