Marner had one good game, and that was game 1. And I'm one of Marners biggest fans on here. He had a very poor playoffs, after an amazing regular season. Matthews was better from game 2 onward.

Marner was wasted in a match up role but agreed. He didn't do anything other than block 2 shots in game 3. Just got neutralized when the game turned into a battle.

Anyone notice Auston wearing a Leafs hat with the small maple leaf with "63" in it? Usually the player's wear the hat with their # in it.

Didn't Marner do all the work on Matthews goal in Game 3 - as Matthews stood by the net?

I liked Matthews goal scoring and general growth throughout this series. With incremental improvement in big games he'll be okay.

He was a non-factor tonight.

Playing him more wasn't accomplishing anything.

Babcock played Patrick Marleau on the PP more in game 6 than Mitch Marner and John Tavares.

He isn't anywhere close to this great coach that you think.

Accept it and move on.

Other than not scoring, what has the 1st unit PP done for the better part of the calendar year?

It's why there's a 2nd unit.

In case the first one is total dog shit.

He was probably playing hurt from those shots unfortunately.

I wish he was just neutralized. His line was leaking goals, too.

Matching up head to head against Bergeron and Marchand... one of the best hockey lines on the planet.

That's where Matthews was supposed to flourish while that line took on the best line in hockey.

So you think its good to give Patrick Marleau and Tyler Ennis and Kasperi Kapanen as much time on the PP as Matthews, Tavares and Marner?

Maybe what he should have done is adjust the powerplay and not run the same PLAY every single PP (force the puck to Marner and have him try cross ice pass's)

Marleau a guy whos a total blackhole offensively plays more PP time than two PPG players in a crucial game where we can eliminate our opponent HAHAHAHA

Keep making excuses for this clueless coach.

Yea exactly JT and Marner matched up against Bergeron and Marchand and lost badly. You need to at least tie.
