Quoted from the Toronto Sun:

"Matthews tied for the sixth-fastest to reach 100 goals before turning 22. He has 26 goals in 43 games this season."

Mike Bossy, Gretzky is third,
Curious as to how they determine this statistic. There seems to be a number of players in the early days of the NHL who have done it faster but they aren't included on these lists. On TSN this morning they showed that Reg Noble reached 100 career goals after 112 GP.

So what's the Best One?

The price goal?
Honestly this is probably not his best goal but it's perhaps my favourite. The way he's able to roof the puck up that quickly and that tight in a huge game was awesome.
I was watching with a crowd of buddies and we went nuts. Huge goal at the time.

I think the NHL records start from 1942 onwards; the first year of the original six. Noble did it before that.

To me its unparalleled in any sport. Only one that maybe comes close is Tiger Woods IMO.

umm, no.

Jack Nicklaus dominated golf far more than Tiger ever did.

Jack has more majors at 18 to 14.

More impressive is how much Jack dominates Tiger in Top 3 finishes in Majors:

Jack: 46
Tiger: 19

on topic, its a good accomplishment. Funny enough, the closest to him in "pace" is Pastrnak who had 94 goals through age 21

It’s crazy to think that with 101 goals so far...

He’s only scored one into an empty net
Only 23 of the goals are on the Power play
Only 1 hat trick(against Ottawa)

I think he should have gotten the 100th sooner. That second leaf goal looks like it was his. MAF kicked it in after it hit the post.

As a Leafs and Matthews fan this is the first time I'll have to say it's sad to see Matthews score. Would've been way more special to see Matthews score his 100th career goal next game in Arizona.
Nah now he can get #102, 103 and 104 against them :)

Assuming he would’ve maintained his current pace, had he played all 57 possible games this season, he would have 70 points (good for 8th in the league) and 35 goals, placing him second behind Ovie.
