Maybe? I'm not sure that's a spoiler, or even a bold prediction. Actually you've done nothing but waste everyone's time who had to read that, and mine for having to write this.

Jeez, sorry if you wasted 10 second of your life reading it.

But why bother replying if that’s such a waste of time?

Kucherov could be the one, but if so, that would make Mcdavid’s 125-130 points season not that special

I've never understood this logic. Say McDavid scores 130 and the next guy gets 100, that's pretty impressive. But is McDavid's season then somehow worse if both him and Kucherov score 130 while the next guy sits 30 points back?

When did McDavid score 125-130 points?

It’s a prediction. Hell, he has 126 points in his last 82 games, so it’s very possible he ends up in the 125-130 points range by the end of the season

If Kucherov & Mcdavid both score 130 points it’s still impressive, don’t get me wrong.

But a player who stands alone at 130 points and the next guy has 100 points is WAY more impressive than two players at 125-130 points. It’s a good indicator of dominance

To answer your question, no it doesn’t make it worse, but less special

That makes sense. I just hate how some people use solely the gap to 2nd in scoring to argue which Art Ross winning season is the greatest.

MacKinnon and Rants with two points a piece as Avs expunge the Kings.

Five players well within the race. Interesting to see if anyone manages to pull out or if it stays tight until the end.

Kucherov up next, Gaudreau vs McDavid to finish the evening.

At this point you're not just looking at 2 guys in the 125-130 point range.

You've got what? 5 players now pacing for that or better. McDavid, Kucherov, Mackinnon, Rantanen, and Gaudreau all on that pace.

Rantanen also injured himself while scoring the 2nd goal. Hope its nothin major, I want to see a fin break 100 points and Rantanen is a lock to do it if he doesnt miss time due to injury.

McDavid and Kucherov are the only two players on pace for 125 points over 82 games, and McDavid has a missed game so he's not on pace for that either.

Kucherov 130/82, McDavid 125/82 Rantanen 123/82, MacKinnon 120/82, Gaudreau 120-121/82.

MacKinnon and Rantanen had two points each and the Avalance demolished LA 7-1. McDavid will face Gaudreau tonight; Kucherov will take on SJ.

1. Kucherov: 76 points (48 GP)
2. Rantanen: 73 points (48 GP)
3. Gaudreau: 72 points (49 GP)
4. McDavid: 70 points (46 GP)
5. MacKinnon: 70 points (48 GP)

Looks like he tweaked his groin. He played a few shifts after his goal, and didn't come back for the 3rd. It was 7-0, and hopefully it's just precautionary.

Did MacKinnon even play in the third either? His minutes are really low. Stopped watching the game when it was 7-0 lol.

That’s a shame. When a guy is having a season like he’s had, the last thing you want to see is to have it interrupted by injury. Hope it’s nothing that hinders him.

I think he had 1 shift. Didn't play on the 5v3 or another PP. Coach doesn't want him padding his stats. He wants MacKinnons Art Ross win to be genuine.

The team just said he was held out for precautionary reasons. He's good to go next game.

Rantanen's goal was very obviously on the power play. Just something to be aware of. with 20 goals he's far behind the leaders.

To some extent, yes. I hear what you're saying though. The fact that Lemieux could almost match Gretzky's 200 point seasons means they're both "out of this world" compared to everyone else. But, Gretzky would be almost unfathomable if Lemieux had never existed. People would be definitely saying things like "there must have been something wrong with the league when he played", even more so than they do now.

Paul Coffey was what broke the league. Hah.

Everything is relative. Is 50 goals on its face very good? Yes. But is it as good if you scored 50 goals and the next closest guy scored 49? Not as good if the disparity was 10 goals instead of 1.

The same holds true for assists. If Kuch gets 130 and McDavid 125. While still impressive, he’s right there with him. If Kuch or McDavid were to win by 15-20, that would be insanely impressive.
