So 35 years ago at the age of 5 I started watching hockey. Being that I was born in st louis and the majority of my family are living there my team was the blues. I can still remember the days of oates, hull and shanahan. I remember the heart aches of us losing in the playoffs year after year. I moved to Tennessee from Louisiana in 93 and 5 years later they got a hockey team. I was hype I would get to watch my favorite team the blues at least 4 times a year. My older brother got season tickets in 303 and I went to quite a few games especially blues games. A couple years go by and the more games I go too I started liking the preds. Still a blues fan I got my first preds Jersey. As the years go by I started becoming more and more a pred fan and it came to a point at blues games I was actually booing them.
If I had to use an example its like dating a girl for years but you start growing apart and you both decide to end it on common ground. You don't dislike each other but you want the best for her. Then years go by and you see her with other guys and you start to despise her a little until you grow a dislike for her. Then years later after you're married to your new girl(team) you love her to death and the past few years its been great you been to places you never been before and are completely happy. Then one day you hear about that girl you was with years ago that you now just dont like. Well you hear that she won the freaking lottery.(figures) And it makes you freaking sick to your stomach. Not that you want to get back with her because I despise her to much now but because I wanted to win the lottery before her and now I get to watch while she celebrates hoping one day I get to celebrate just like she did.
I'm happy for my family but its hard to be happy for the blues even though they used to be my team. Being in the same division for years didnt help at all. Well here's to next year that the preds will win the lottery.
