Nothing like a loss to Buffalo to prompt some serious soul searching. Like, **** off already.

Can't wait until we have a modicum of respect around the league again.
Did you watch the game yesterday? It was much more a case of the Kings being really bad than the Sabres being good.

This place is an emotional rollercoaster. People get way to excited about the wins and way to down about the losses.

Finally the Sabres can at least capitalize on a real bad game from a not so good team. That's a plus

Only a handful of fans display that after every game. A good chunk are pretty even tempered throughout the season knowing it’s a long season and swinging drastically one way or the other is pointless.

Nathan MacKinnon is the second best player in the NHL, you’d have to be a moron to think Auston Matthews has the same impact on a game as he does. He scores like Auston, but he’s SO MUCH better at creating his own offense. He doesn’t rely on others to set him up, he’s the driver, the disher and the finisher.

The two best players in the league are also the two best skaters in the league. Coincidence, I think not. Draft speed all day, it's a new league.

Random thought:

When Seattle joins the NHL, they obviously fit in the Pacific division. Is Arizona gonna get kicked to the Central then?

Or are we looking at a more robust re-alignment?

The 4 NW teams fit perfectly together -- Seattle, Vancouver, EDM, CGY

The problem is the SW -- SJ, LA, ANH, PHX and VGK are all nicely geographically situated together.......

Gonna be really interesting for sure. Curious what this could potentially mean for teams like Detroit, columbus, Chicago etc in that iffy territory moving forward. Also curious if this is a cutoff for expansion or if Quebec and or Hartford etc have any real shot moving forward to skew conversations.

What other real alternative do they have? I'm not sure what else they could do with the current division structure other than flipping Colorado back to the Pacific and sending the Alberta teams to the Central. Even then, it makes way more sense to move Arizona than the Alberta teams, if for no other reason than the fact that Arizona moving elsewhere, Quebec for example, is far from unrealistic and it's easier to keep their options open by having the potentially relocating team in the Central where they could flip over Detroit or Columbus from the East if need be.

Otherwise you're either talking about doing something more drastic like shifting to 8 divisions of 4 teams each, or getting rid of divisions altogether and going with just two 16 team conferences.

Leafs are already fun to watch, should be even more exciting once they get Nylander back in.

I don’t think it’ll make much of a difference, Kapanen has been tremendous, he’s probably going to slide down the depth chart and struggle to produce now.
