Raffi Torres is expected to be back for his 1st NHL game of the season vs the Devils on Sunday.
Please let us try to get him back if he looks good out there.
He scored 2 last night vs. Philly.
Winnipeg won again so the Yotes are now in the 11 spot (out of 14, ouch) in the west, if the Yotes lose tomorrow things are not looking too good.
This match-up on NBC tonight is soo unbearable to watch. Ass-kissing of everything in this game, YUCK!
I went to the game in Buffalo a few years back. They're even better to see in person.
The novelty is wearing off, it was cool when it was just the Winter Classic but now there are stadium games all the time, it's no longer a unique annual event. If they had one in Phoenix I don't know if I'd go or not but I do know I couldn't care less if they ever have one. To each their own I suppose. And screw those that say "the novelty is wearing off", I'd be there in a heartbeat if they had a game here in Phoenix at Chase or University of Phoenix Stadium, or even Frank Kush field.
After trading Halak yesterday, the Blues needed a backup goalie for their game vs. the Ducks. The only person they could find was Anaheim's locker room attendant. Too bad he didn't get to play!
That would have been hilarious. Wonder if they had to sign him to a one game deal.
They do, but it's a one-day tryout contract that pays something like $500 for the day.
Not a bad bonus. Usually wouldn't expect that going into work. Probably would end up being one of those stories everyone is tired of hearing and thinks you are liar about it.
There was a fun story a few years ago where 51 year old Paul Deutsch was signed to a 1 day contract by Minnesota due to injury and concern their callup from the AHL wouldn't make it on time. But backup Matt Hackett got to the arena just before game time so Deutsch didn't make it on the game roster.
