The Hockey News: Money & Power

Hockey's 10 most powerful persons:
1) Gary Bettman, NHL commissioner
2) Auston Matthews, player, Toronto Maple Leafs
3) Jeremy Jacobs, owner, Boston Bruins
4) Connor McDavid, player, Edmonton Oilers.
5) Craig Leopold, owner, Minnesota Wild.
6) Donald Fehr, executive director, NHLPA.
7) Murray Edwards, owner, Calgary Flames.
8) Bill Daly, deputy commissioner, NHL.
9) Erik Karlsson, player, San Jose Sharks.
10) Rene Fasel, President, IIHF.

Is Matthews the 2nd most powerful person in the hockey world for holding the Leafs by their *****?

Here come the Marner offer sheets. Arizona. Carolina. Florida. Marner is getting an offer sheet for 7x13.

Lol, no one is offer sheeting anyone. There has been like 20 great RFAs in the past 3 years who all were ripe for an OS (many on teams with bad cap situation) and not one was handed out. GMs are scared shitless of offersheets. Its embarrassing and/or outright collusion

This year I think might be different.

Whats different this year? Its the same cast of recycled GMs.

New ownership. Dundon, the Violas and Az will probably have a new owner by summer. A massive crop of top high end RFAs not seen in the past available all at one time and new player militancy on getting paid on 2nd contracts.

That’s what’s new.

Just listened to that Hippo in Toronto Jeff Oniel ir ODOG as they call him.

Crying so much about people talking about the Matthew's contract lol. Isn't he the one who said he would rather have him over McDavid.

Hes like who cares about other teams who hate the deal etc. Such a homer lol.

Watching this leafs game

I dont think they have thrown the puck out of their zone to nobody even twice.

Smart break outs.

We throw it out to the opposition almost every second play in our d zone

Watching this Ottawa game shows how absolutely pathetic and pitiful our d is at leaving our zone

I dont think I counted 10 total Steve staios or Russell clears all game

We do 10 to 20 a period just giving the puck away

So what is Halls injury?

I had no idea the Devils sucked a** as bad as they have. Do they have a winning record with Hallsy?

11-17-7 up to December 23rd (his last game). 9-8-0 since then. Looks to be a good bet to welcome the first overall pick to the team again, unless he gets traded before then. Being second last in the league may still be good enough for another Hart trophy.

Edit: rechecked and saw he missed the games on December 14th & 15th. NJ won one and lost the other in a shootout. So, 10-17-6 with Hall, 10-8-1 without.

At the flames game. I think the only people who complain more to the refs than Gaudreau are flames fans. Good grief these people are terrible hockey fans.

Piss. Everyone got points tonight, except for Anaheim and Minny for the obvious reason. Of course Chicago and Van had to be a 3 pt game.

The Oilers are the kings of self inflicted bullets in the foot.
