Miami University Now Says There Were 2 Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Former Blackhawks Coach

A university in Ohio is for the first time publicly confirming there were two sexual assault claims involving former Chicago Blackhawks Coach Bradley Aldrich during his five-month stint there after leaving Illinois.

Details are few, but Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, acknowledged the existence of the second claim after WBEZ reported last week about a police report from a former student who came forward in 2018 and alleged Aldrich sexually assaulted him in 2012.

Aldrich’s career path while with Chicago’s National Hockey League franchise and afterward has come under scrutiny after an ex-Blackhawks player and a former Michigan high school hockey player sued the team for improperly handling sexual assault allegations against the former coach in 2010. The latest claim marks at least the seventh individual with allegations involving Aldrich documented in court complaints and investigative police reports.

If Chicago ownership doesn't do it, the NHL needs to step in and remove everyone involved from employment in the NHL.

This is Suter's buyout cost. Parise's contract is the same. Minnesota will be taking a $14.7m cap hit in both '23-'24 and '24-25 to pay these guys not to play for them. That's more than 18% of an $81.5m cap...and the league may be at that cap for the next 4-5 years (per Friedman's reporting this spring/summer).

The Suter buyout makes no sense. I can't figure it out. There's almost no cap or salary savings after 2021-22, it's like they just decided to take a top pair defenseman, which he still is, and pay him to not play anymore. He'll cost far more to replace.

So odd that this happens the day after the Keith trade. Imagine being Edmonton...you could have gotten Suter (probably with salary retained) and you end up with Keith.

I know Minnesota was worried about not losing Matt Dumba in the expansion draft but that is really bighting the bullet...

I doubt it. Keith actually wanted to go to Edmonton, which is still a bit of a rarity. Suter is an American and had a full NMC, so that usually means he has close to zero percent chance of ending up in the frozen wasteland of the North.
