The next Botts presser should be soon. Whatever media member gets a hold of him better come ready to ask some pointed questions.

I am not pining for lindy ruff to come back, but he would have laid into those refs and then called the team out for not playing well enough to win. “Sure the calls didn’t go our way, but even if they did we didn’t deserve to win.”

Wait, playing well enough to win doesnt automatically give you points? Someone needs to call Housley and Botts to tell them participation isnt enough to make the playoffs. They are under the impression giving a good effort without and structure or gameplan should be enough.

They might as well go all out for the Calder Cup at this point...give them Pilut and CJ back
They could do better than that. To be eligible for the AHL playoffs an NHL contracted player has to be on an AHL team at the trade deadline. Dahlin, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Pilut, and CJ could all be sent down. Then use their 4 non-emergency recalls to bring back the guys they want to finish the season in the NHL. Dahlin will probably get an invitation to the World Championships.

That would be hilarious to see Dahlin in Rochester.

This was true last season, it was true in the locker room cleanout, and it's true now.

player/coach/GM interviews don't actually mean or tell us anything, and watching them and trying to dissect stuff is pointless. We just received 60 minutes of actual hockey to study.

I love the idea of sending Thompson down. The others? I'd hate to bump guys off a playoff roster who actually earned a spot (caveat-very hot take).

Wow. So glad I didn’t see one moment of this ****show.
TB winning their 7th in a row...
Caps up after that?
These bums are going to go 0-5.

Then at Toronto. Then at Philly. Decent chance they don't win again until March.

The fragility and mental softness is absurd. It’s so tough to lump it entirely on the coach when you see some of the things we’ve seen the last month or so.

- To say the air came out after the first goal against is obviously an understatement. Absolute madness that we deflated how we did. It’s contagious up and down the roster.

- Strong side wingers were nowhere to be found on the breakout. And when we failed to break out, said wingers took ferry rides to wind back up thru the neutral zone to MAYBE, eventually, get back into the zone. Despicable. Lazy. Offensive to viewers.

- Gotta love Larsson tripping over his own feet, then voicing his displeasure with the non-call by *crawling* to the bench for a change, shorthanded, as Florida rushed the other way. Didn’t even bother to drop his head and do the flailing arms that you do when you want to look like you’re trying to skate hard but aren’t.

- The only person more dangerous than Pominville to the Sabres, with the puck on his stick, is Sobotka. I’ve never seen someone have to slow down so much upon getting the puck. It’s almost an impediment or an affliction, and not as much a product of laziness or lacking effort. He kind of tries. He’s just bad.

- Mittelstadt turns the puck over and has to let the world know that HE knows he made an egregious error. Just get the f*** back in the play, stop the nonsense.

- Brown throws the small of his back into the center of McCabe’s face by way of aviation, and nobody even attempts to intimidate him or say a word.

- We dont backcheck

You have to also adore the cohesion between coach and captain, the former who’s not going to “fault them for the effort” and the latter who calls the same “them” a fragile bunch.

I'm surprised people are bothering to keep tabs on other teams ahead of us when our own team needs to start getting a actual winning streak going which hasn't happened since December.
Yeah, but I'm sort of rooting for them to make playoffs. Can't find a silver lining out of both losses :/

Is this a good team that is being out coached? Is this a team of superior players being held back by a fifth columnist in a coach' uniform? Or is it a team of over the hill over paid vets, a handful of real nhlers who sometimes come out to play and a large complement of puppies trying to be big doggies? Your answer will tell you whether Housley is the cause of what is happening here. Maybe Housley should go--maybe it will spark some life in some of these guys and maybe scare some of the younger guys into winning more puck battles. Maybe. I guess it comes down to not being able to trade away what we need to be good going forward -good players with term and good cap numbers. Bottom line imho--we are not good enough and changing the coach is like changing the bandleader on the Titanic--that sucker of an iceberg is right in front of us and we are going down no matter who waves the baton.

Well, at least there were some Sabres games this late into the season that were semi- important.

Playoff hopes are toast barring some Walt Disney type shit that has these guys rally off 4 in a row againsts TB, WSH, TOR and PHI.
