why? cousins obviously wasant staying, now we can get a defender at pick #13, dont have to wait around for cousins to choose someone else

Back when I made that comment, it was a 2nd (which it no longer seems to be) + a player + a looong contract for a nearing his mid 30's QB. Plus, you downgrade at QB as I'd rather have Cousins.

Better for Skins now that it's a 3rd.

Edit - That is a big $ figure...

Why even bother? You weren't a contender with Cousins, and you sure as hell aren't with Smith.

QB needy teams like the Jags and Broncos better move fast.

Edit: 23 million? that's lunacy.

sua cravens is thanking skins fans on his snapchat right now. seems like hes the one going

so if he actually plays then its smith for a 3rd and cravens, if not its just smith for a 3rd

I don't like this deal for the Chiefs. They really should have held out for a 2nd. I realize they needed the cap space and Mahomes is ready for the job, but a second should have been the minimum price. Cravens is basically a project.

I also move that the thread title be changed to "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington".

Cleveland should do something similar to what Joe Thomas suggested: Throw the checkbook at Cousins and use the 2 picks for the best non QB's available.

That would be a great trade for KC.

At first I thought it was a fine move for Washington but Fuller being in the deal would change things.

Fine move for Washington. Smith was great this year and is a perfectly capable starting QB. I think he's in the same range as Cousins.

They'll get a 3rd next year for Cousins as compensation anyway, so they come out close to to even.
