At least I won’t have to read mysognistic comments about her appearance anymore from both the men and (sigh) women of this site. Alex brought out the worst in a lot of y’all

Guilty as charged.
But by commenting on her looks was the only way to get her attention and piss her off.
Talking about how she treated people / coworkers or other things wouldnt because I doubt she gives a shit.

So like I said let her mount her broom and gtfo of here.

I’m not going to get into it because I’m sure it will evolve into a discussion about gender that is inappropriate for a hockey message board, but there is so much wrong with this comment.

Did she read this site? I remember a few posters commenting on her one night and the way you reacted made it seem like she was on the site. Sometimes I wonder if any of the NESN on air crew are regulars.

Rob Simpson is the only one I actually liked a great deal. Most of the rest were "meh" -- not great, not awful. Alex is my least favorite one. A horse posing as a hooker, trying way too hard. Good riddance.
Rob was my favorite. He knew hockey and the players seemed to like him. He was friendly when he was down near us .

We saw him on the subway in Prague (He is very tall...like 6'6") . He came over and said hello.

Hey she treats one of ours like ****, she can go **** herself. I liked her too until I read what she said to Fenway.

I never cared for her, but I’m disgusted by her vile behavior. Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes right to the bone. I certainly didn’t think she was anything special. Overly made up and looking a little undernourished.

Calling @Fenway an “old man” and threatening his job (I’m sure an idle threat) is just heinous. Shame on her.

One day she’ll be an “old lady” and no one except her husband (if she’s ever fortunate enough to marry) will pay her any mind.

I hope one day she comes to realize what’s truly important in this life.

She always struck me as a very shallow person. There was absolutely nothing about her that showed me that she was genuine in any way

Not like she even has beauty either. It's an act created by cosmetics. As is her personality, clearly. NESN made the right decision.

It’s a shame that NESN moved on from Naoko Funayama. Always thought she was the best one they’ve had in recent years and really, really knew her stuff.

I agree with your first sentence 100% (I never liked her,she came across as too airhead/bimbo for me) Anyone who doesn't treat people with respect can go f*** themselves, there is never any excuse for treating people badly. And @Fenway is one the best which makes her behavior towards him that much worse.

NESN will never....ever learn. Fans want knowledge, not MAC and Sephora. B**bs dont help ratings.

As a female fan (I like to say student of the game), I want facts, humor and carisma, and someone who knows the game.

AND I'm on board with Kate08 on this one.

The fans *****ed about Naoko, and bithced about Rob Simpson and *****ed about this young woman. let it go. the schtick doesnt work in between periods anymore.

(and I must be getting old, because I'm not sure what qualifies as "hot' anymore. and why its important in hockey?)

I wish I could like this post more than once, you nailed my opinion of sideline reporters 100% :thumbu:

She was fine, but talked really strange. Like she was inhaling while talking. The only comparison I can come up in my head is that Chocolate Rain guy. Watch his studio videos and he sings similar....
really? Never noticed one thing about the way she spoke, found she was knowledgeable and while the gig in general is one where the generic soft ball questions/segments are really all that`s required, she did a nice job, not sure what she`s doing now but appreciated her work with the B`s, whenever watching a NESN broadcast and she came up, immediate channel turn

If I’m not mistaken, Naoko left in order to raise a family. Agree, though, she knew her stuff and was not there for the eye candy.

I would have 0 issues if this position is never filled, such a cream puff gig and one that no matter who has been in the role over the years, I didn`t pay a ton of attention to it
Honestly, they can just have Jack, Brick, or anyone in the NESN studio do the player interviews during intermissions, and I would be fine with it. They already interview the coaches during the 2nd intermission.

With ya 100%, Wally. Her treatment of Fenway, alone, was enough to want her outta here.

No - Naoko was blindsided by the move.

Naoko Funayama let go by NESN | Boston.com

In the above article you can see the support she got from other reporters and an ironic tweet from a player who a week later was blindsided as well.
