Verhaeghe came agonizingly close to being assigned to Orlando a few years back when he was in the Toronto organization. It was looking like he'd be Orlando-bound for at least part of his rookie season, then a trade was made on Leafs media day with the Islanders that resulted in him going to their affiliates in AHL Bridgeport and ECHL Missouri.

i like mixture with witko but want smith on team too just to have some guys hitting cirelli looking really good shocked at serg how much simpler hes playing since worlds still at times coming out of own end he carries pucks like hand grenades but his thought process is sooo much quicker more defined and simpler overall huge upgrade from last year imho

I think the biggest reason for optimism right now is Shattenkirk. I don't think he'll get the PP time to be a huge scorer, but he's going to support our forwards at ES. He's skating really well tonight.
