Tripod
I hate this team
I have never played in any of the Cape Breton courses....as sad as that is. So I can't give you a 1st hand account of anything. But here is what I do know:@Tripod Once they open up all Canada travel, if I was to come play Cabot Cliffs, whats the Readers Digest notes of tips ?
Is Cabot Links on same property ?
Where to fly, 2 other courses close to play, city to stay in, do I need car rental ( Like to have pops )
to play Cabot Cliffs, typically people stay at Cabot Links and also play that course while there. The courses are 7 minutes away from each other. There is no CITY where you will be going in Cape Breton! Besides the resort, there are only 1-2 lower end motels, some B&B and cottages.
When you fly in, it will be to Halifax. Inverness(where Cabot Links/Cliffs are) is 4 hr drive away(344 km's) so you will need a rental car for sure. The airportis outside of Halifax so you won't actually see it as it's in the opposite direction once leaving the airport. 3 hours of that drive is pretty boring as you are driving thru the province on the main highway. Once near Cape Breton, you will have more scenery as you drive along the water more often.
Coming from BC the whole time change doesn't working in your favour as you lose 4 hours in time change and 4-5 hours in flight time. How many days were you trying to make the whole trip in?
3 other course in Cape Breton which are rated high are Dundee, Bell Bay and Cape Breton Highland Links. I wouldn't both playing any other courses between Halifax and Cape Breton if you are looking to play high end courses. On the other side of Halifax is Glen Arbour which is a Championship level course.
So yeah, some of defends on how much time you have. I would suggest doing the Cabot trail if you are coming this far across Canada. But some drunk dudes might not care about scenery too much either...lol.
