maybe a bit of a reach due to size concerns, but this kid wowed me the few times i saw him this year in the OHL. Not sure if he'll be a 3rd rounder come June, but...

:leafs select, from the Belleville Bulls, F John Hughes

Vancouver is up.

He was the #1 pick in the OHL a few years ago, how has he looked?

Really good stick-handler and skater. He is good at making things happen out of nothing and is very fun to watch, however he can work a bit on his back - checking.

I saw him play several times this year and he kinda does everything well. He doesnt stand out but is solid in his own end and has good size. Could be one of those guys that breaks out next season in the Dub

I haven't gotten to see him play, but I've talked to someone who has, and I like what I see in the scouting reports.

I like his size, right-hand shot, and consistency... and the fact that he led his team in playoff scoring, as a defensemen, doesn't hurt his standing, either.

BTW, nice avatar... :thumbu:

Just want to say that Franchise Player is assisting me as GM of the Montreal Canadiens so if he picks instead of me it's official without my approval.

Dear God, I hope that Don Waddell and his men will not draft like Hedberg.
