Nope, I haven't been updating everyday from the start, only when at my computer since I had so many formatting issues trying from my phone. Should be at my desk later today.
Your computer is too weak for the NHL. Should go back to Sweden before Matheson corrupts your hard drive.

Ok well, the League may recognize it that way, but it's still 50 in 50 to me. Oh well, carry on

was just thinking about the Neely year of 50 in 49 - which is all he played that season.
What's incredible again, is that he lead the league in GWGs despite only playing 49.
He scored 13 that year, a little better than a game winning goal every 4 games and ties him for 5th all-time post WWII.
He carried a pace to score 22 GWG that year.

Phil Esposito holds the league record, scoring 16 twice. Goulet did it once.

No team has played less than 8 games.
Sorry, is this a team accomplishment or a player accomplishment? I'm pretty sure it's a player accomplishment. Getting a concussion from a questionable play seems like a weird reason to "disqualify" someone, not that your particular thread is of any real value.

If he scores 50 goals in 50gp are you gonna be out here whining about how "it doesn't count!!!!" ?

The record is about 50 goals in the teams first 50 played. I didnt make up the record, I'm just reporting on what's happening this year.

Next time educate yourself before spouting off an uninformed opinion, here is a good place to start. 50 goals in 50 games - Wikipedia

Thank god you are around to police people that do not agree with your or wikipedia's definition of the record.

Yeah but that still doesn't disqualify Pettersson. He just needs to pot 50 before the Canucks reach the 51 game mark.

And he will do it. :sarcasm:

Yep, you are correct. He isn't isn't reliable for any of the rates being tracked. 7 in 13 is not close, but if he get 3 hatricks in the next 2 games he will ahead of pace at 16 in 15 games, that would be awesome to see.

I haven't read that coming from an official source, only Wikipedia who does not cite that part of the record. I don't see why 50 goals in your first 50 games is any less impressive anyways.

It just may be, but that's not what's being tracked. Not sure what part of this you are having trouble with.

What’s the big deal about 50 in 50??
Wouldn’t 82 in 82 be the bigger accomplishment?
Yeah, or 164 in 82?? That would be even bigger thing!!! Or 500 in 30, or...

Yes of course 82 in 82 would be the bigger accomplishment but that will never happen. On the other hand, there's a slight chance that someone will score 50 in 50.

Im probably being baited.

My point is why pick 50? Why not 40 in 40 or 30 in 30?
