I still want Hughes bc that would be such an add to this team, but with Hart that seems even less likely.

Anyone else see Hart’s laser vision. Seems like a guy that can get even more dialed in during big games. Screams playoff goalie. Scary thought.

Patrick looks phenomenal. Glad to see him do so well. He he plays like this we have no glaring need for Hughes.

A lot of great options.

In a few years that should be very good. Hughes just opens us up to dynasty level. For me, I am happy with wins and value the losses. Crossing my fingers!

Hopefully not. But if there's one defenseman they may consider trading in a big trade, it's probably him.

Gostisbehere's minutes are down cause he isn't on PP1 right now. He is third pairing, PP specialist ....without PP time his TOI is going to be low.

I am sure he noticed the final score - which changes nothing about how horribly **** was the first period.
Exactly, what does the final score have to do with how horribly they played in the first? Lets not kid ourselves here, if Hart doesn't bail them out during the first half of this game, they would have been down 2 or 3 goals by the early part of the 2nd period. While it's great to see Patrick playing with confidence and putting up points, overall the team really isn't playing that much better than they were earlier in the season. The difference is that they are now getting quality goaltending. Good goaltending can cover up a lot of problems.

Yep, they got bailed out and broke their opponent afterwards. Earlier this season they often got broken first, often early, and did not even try to fight back. "Lookie lookie they won!" is a cool thing to say but has hardly anything to do with the point here..

Giving up Ghost for anything that isn't a mindblowing return is pure folly. Judging him on a down year where nearly the whole defense has been defective is unwise and his cap hit vs capabilities is unmatched. There is no other dman who can bring so much for so little, when he's playing normally.

I agree, and I can't see him being dealt for anyone less than a 1D, which I wouldn't totally hate (depending on whom, of course).

Does anyone not agree with this statement?........WITHOUT Bernie Parent the Flyers NEVER win the Stanley Cup! Without Carter Hart, the Flyers will NOT win the Stanley Cup! Goalies steal games when you play crappy in the 1st period. Egads......can't you remember Gene Hart and my man, Don Earle "boy they got out of that period with the stellar/dazzling play/performance of Bernie Parent"........???

Agreed. While the first was cringe worthy, overall, there are quite a few positives in the game. They has a few open net chances in the first inspite of being outplayed for 20 minutes. Hart saved their bacon and eventually they responded by spending much more time in the offensive zone in the next 2 periods. The rookies all seemed to shine and gain more confidence. The goals scored by the Flyers were no lucky bounces but a thing of beauty.
In the last few games, they were down 2-0 but were able to bounce back and somehow respond and close it out for the W's inspite of a lack of system and quality coaching.
For me, on the road at the Bell Centre on a Saturday night it overshadows a horrible start in the first period.

Flyers outplayed once again, but I've been told they're a fast team, how come every good team outskates them?
They are playing more physical and with more grit (thanks Gritty) and have remembered how to score goals, though TK really has to stop blowing wide open chances.

They're still 14 points out of the playoffs with only 34 games left - SELL.

Patrick doesn't surprise me, he's been playing solid hockey, now the breaks are going his way and he's getting confidence.
Lindblom keeps doing the dirty work, but some have no appreciation.
JVR is finding his groove, the guy can score.

The defense is a mess, they need a major trade to balance it out.

Oh yeah, the kid is for real, still a couple years away, but Hart only had one bad play, the goal he should have snagged with his glove, a tenth of a second slow, in time he'll be on time.
Good win but ya outplayed and it was the usual bore fest. The mtl players didn't even credit flyers on playing a good game instead they said they slowed down to the boring pace of the game. Flyers bring pout the worst games ion better team$s.

Ghost is a possibility, b/c they need a veteran RHD who is top 4 quality (and not too old) to stabilize this group, too much inexperience and it shows, plus bad balance, Sanheim should be back on the left side. And getting such a player means giving up quality.
