With the way the D and goaltending were playing and with Bergeron having a significant injury I doubt we would of even made the finals
If Pittsburgh makes the playoffs instead of Florida we coast through round 1, Bergeron and Ullmark both get healthy as a result, Leafs are still soft as butter so we knock them off in 6, Carolina is tough but worn down and we're in the final against Vegas. Toss a coin. Yes, I believe it was that close and we simply met the worst possible match up for round one that we could have,

Whatever else happens this off-season, one thing I'd like to see from Sweeney is a definitive decision made on what Jake DeBrusk's and Matt Grzelcyk's futures are with the team. Whether that means trading them or extending them, I'm not too fussed either way, but I absolutely do not want to be going into next year's trade deadline with either one of them pending UFAs at the end of the season. This team is not in a position where it can afford to have valuable home-grown talent walking away in free-agency for free and I don't want Sweeney to put himself in a situation where he's tempted to hang onto them as "self rentals" ala Loui Eriksson in 2015/16.

Overall I'd like to see the Bruins take a calculated step back these next couple of seasons in order to take a big step forward later on. Giving up a boatload of assets from their already depleted inventory for Elias Lindholm or Mark Scheifele really doesn't interest me at all as IMO neither one puts this team over-the-top as a serious contender. Blowing everything up for next year doesn't make much sense to me either though given the draft pick situation. Yes, the 1st rounder sent to Detroit is top-10 protected but chances are if the Bruins suck enough that they're picking top-10 next year, they're probably going to be doing the same the following year and then you're potentially handing a division rival a very valuable pick. Sweeney's best course of action might be to just patch the roster holes as best as he can with cheap vets/kids with the goal of being competitive enough to make sure the pick he sent to Detroit is as high as possible. and then performing significant roster surgery for the following season.

Saw this on a Sabres site and just had to repost it. They really hate Hall.
