Turcs line was the best in my opinion.
I think it still goes to the Danault line. Turcotte's line suffered from Byfield declining as the game went on. Though he had a nice pass to Kempe leading to the ENG.

Kempe, talented as he is, still needs his linemates to do a lot of the dirty work for him, as well.

Danault and Moore are just very good players who create their own chances.

Edit: PLD and JAD lines were BAD

Kempe becoming a really good player randomly is one of the weirdest stories on the Kings. He was a random last pick of the first round. What an anomaly. And he was a nobody for 5 years and then he started to snipe out of nowhere.
He looked very good for Sweden for years when he played with better players.
They dicked around with him at center and lesser linemates.
He hit it with Kopi and got better and better.
He has shown he can do it with other lines now too.
There was no weird random anamoly.

I wonder if Turcotte is a better fit next to Kopitar and Kempe than Byfield.

Turcotte - Kopitar - Kempe
Byfield - PLD - Fiala
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson

Kaliyev ain’t it, I’m calling it now. I want him to succeed but I just don’t see it with Todd. He’s too soft and makes too many bad plays. He has earned zero trust except on the second power play.

He is played well against bigger players in Sweden but he wasn’t lights out by any means. It was complete anomaly that he became the player he did 5-6 years after he was drafted when he had no ceiling of the sort on draft day, and then 6 years later he becomes a sniper. If you think Kempe isn’t an anomaly then you’d be a great scout lol

Good win. Talbot kept them in it which is all you can ask for from your goalie.

Over the 2 games I'd say these were trending up/down that I have.

Trending up:
Turcotte
Bjornfot
Moverare
Talbot
Spence

Trending down:
JAD
Englund
Copley
Fagemo
Byfield

Still early doors in preseason and more games to come.

While I’m on the subject, I wonder why we’ve just automatically assumed that Fiala and PLD should play together?

PLD - Kopitar - Byfield
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Fiala - Turcotte - Kempe
Grundstrom - Lizotte - Lewis

I was referencing his play with the Swedish National Team during his career when he was also a KIng.
The aforementioned handling of him just delayed his breakout.
You are completely off the grid with your analysis as usual,
Kempe was almost a second round pick, right in the Kings wheelhouse.
The Kings need to hire someone to handle their first round picks with as little interaction with the rest of their scouts as possible.
