In all honesty, the latter will happen regardless. If we get a legit 2C he will:

1. Be the wrong one
2. Cost too many assets
3. Not cost enough assets
4. Be a pending UFA
5. Not be a pending UFA
6. Be too old
7. Not be experienced enough
8. Have too many eyes
9. Not have enough eyes
etc.

Never underestimate HFAvs ability to bitch and moan about everything.

I mean I get what Sakic decided to do there, he chose Duchene and MacKinnon but then Duchene couldn't hang when things got unexpectedly tough.

Zero excuse for what happened after the Duchene trade though. Even Kadri was a bit of a lower cost/low reward move at the time of the trade, they got lucky as hell that trade turned out the way it did and Kadri played awesome in the right season.

Yup. I don't know what else he's needed. 10 day break over the all star game, 2-3 day break just now... it's getting to be a problem that I just don't think they see lol.

Why post about it if they go through the deadline without addressing it? We all know that's going to be the end result anyways. Another glorious season wasted.
