Petrov wrapped up the OHL regular season today with 1G 1A

His final stat line:

63GP - 90P (40G 50A) +32

I may dive into comparable seasons later, but this is an incredible season. He was on a good team, but he proved he could produce on and off that dominant top line.

North Bay finished 2nd in the East and will play the Ottawa 67’s in round 1. Hopefully they can go on a long drive, led by Petrov

And considering this is his first year of NA hockey, that's pretty darned impressive.

There aren’t a ton of imports who have ever done what Petrov has, but in the wider range of D+1 OHL forwards, there are some nice recent comps:

Max Domi- 61 GP, 34-59-93
Jordan Kyrou- 66 GP, 30-64-94
Arthur Kaliyev- 57 GP, 44-54-98
Nick Suzuki- 64 GP, 42-58-100

And my personal favourite, since it’s a good match both positionally and physically:

Jason Robertson- 68 GP, 41-46-87

If Petrov can be a 70 point guy by age 22 like Robertson is now, it would be huge for this club.

Added an assist, but the Troops lost 6-4, going down 3-0 in the series that may be over on Friday.

He also started a scrum at the final whistle. He's definitely got some jam in his game.

Getting a look on the top line with Mitch Russell out.
Hamilton is just a really deep and solid team. 11-0 in the playoffs so far with a goal differential of +33 and by far the best record in the OHL this year.

Even their lesser known guys are having a great playoff. Grushnikov is a guy to really watch in Dallas. Another Esa Lindell in the making.

It really is amazing how much the experience of using this site changes when the GreatKeiths etc etc of the world get removed from the boards.
There’s critique and then there’s bitching and moaning and attention seeking where it just gets old. Whine long enough and they are no longer trying to impart their ideas on how to make the team better… they’ve crossed the line where they may as well just be Flames fans.

I wonder who has the best shot between Lavoie, Petrov, Savoie, and Bourgault
