Why are we trying Paul at center when he hasn't played center since his junior days only to move Pinto, a guy we fully expect to be a center at the pro level, over to the wing?

Because of the talk of sending Pinto down to Belleville & giving Tierny more ice time. I also think it balances out the lines better & Paul looks like he is ready for it. However, they could also move Paul to RW & keep Pinto at centre or leave C. Brown with them & put Paul on RW with White. Paul has never played RW in the NHL either & people seem to be fine with that. He's played centre throughout his junior career it's not like it's new to him, he takes faceoffs & is good at it & he plays a defensive role whether at centre or on the wing.

Chabot // Zaitsev had a pretty good chemistry last year, I'm not entirely sure why they would break that tandem? Especially when Zub made every partner that he played with better to solidify the team's top-4

Because Zaitsev played way too many minutes and should be selectively deployed. Chabot - Zub (if it works) could be magical.

Zub can retrieve the puck and play it with control better than Zaitsev.. they will spend less time in their end with Zub.. which maximizes Chabots talents. The middle pairing with what we have has to emerge but we really don't have the strength there.. lets hope they can find a pair that works.

I honestly expected Pinto to start in the A and just get some fine tuning, even with how well he's done in training camp. But now with White out for an extended period, can't see him being sent down unless he's struggling.
