Damn I am actually quite hyped for the roster. Some high end talent in Seider, Bokk and Stützle, lots of guys with regular DEL experience already like Peterka, Reichel, Schütz, Nijenhus.

That might be our best or at least most well rounded roster in recent time

Tim Berni was at last year's juniors as an 18 year old. No one sees him making the team again this year as 19 year old?

He was drafted.

Edit: nvm. He's Swiss.

Unfortunately most of the "stars" are one or two years too young to do some real damage though.

It is a bit similar to 2012/13, when Draisaitl, Kahun and Tiffels were double underagers and we had some pretty good aditional forwards in Rieder, Pföderl, Uvira and Latta. That forward group was probably even better than this year, but this year's team has a slight edge in goaltending with Hane and Ancicka over Cüpper back then and it is a lot better on defense with Seider than the Draisaitl team which had an Oliver Mebus who had not yet figured out how to use his giant size.

It's definitely going to be interesting to watch this group. Too bad that Seider will probably not be available next year (I see him playing in the NHL full time), when Stützle, Reichel and Peterka will be a year older. Hopefully they will avoid relegation so that those guys get another chance.

I hope Valentino Klos will have fully recovered in time for the tournament. I really liked him in his DEL apperances and he could be a valuable and underrated piece for the team with all the focus on the super talented youngsters.

Czech Republic may not have that star player as they sometimes do but they still have Teply, Mysak, Pytlik, Jenik etc, Seider helps Germany's defence and makes it alot closer but I still think Czechs have slight edge, anything can happen though.

I believe it will be something like this:

Reichel - Stützle - Bokk
Schütz - Jentzsch - Peterka
Kinder - Fleischer - Valenti
Klos - Schinko - Nijenhuis

Mik - Seider
Gnyp - Hüttl
Heinzinger - Dersch
Glötzl

Hane
Ancicka

Maybe Brune could play on Stützle´s line. They played the whole last year together but we will see.

I would think this is quite accurate, maybe Glotzl in the top 6.
Really like this team. Might even go Ancicka over Hane though our goalies don't look too great.

The goalies may not be great, but they are clearly better than in recent years.
Ancicka seems to be doing ok in Finland at the junior level and Hane has been pretty good most of the time when he played in the DEL this season. Not something you often see from goalies who are only 19 years old. The strong defensive system in Düsseldorf certainly helps, but he's been doing a good job there.

Really? I do not think, only in a dream. In December/January will come a reality. Peterka, Reichel, Glotzl still 17 years old players. In same level are Knazko, Chromiak (from slovakia). Without Seider in defens slovakia has more quality. Golian, Cesanek, Bucko, Turan play in slovak extraliga.

Fleischer and Valenti are awful in CHL on the other side Okuliar, Cajkovic and Fasko Rudas are more better, I remembered how few german fans wrote that Valenti is big new german star and Fleischer detto.

You left out schutz, stutzle, bokk and seider, who are all probably better players than anyone on Slovakia.

Hlavaj is a good goalie, and certainly better than any German goalie.

I absolutely think bokk and stutzle are better than Cajkovic or okuliar.
Stutzle is still 17 years old player. He is big talent without a doubt, but he is very young a it is big different if your team mate are players who played a few hundreds games in AHL/NHL/Liiga and the other hand players like Schutz, Valenti, Kinder ...

Bokk is stagnating this season. Cajkovic is not worse like Bokk. Have you ever seen some games with Cajkovic?
Well, think what you want. We will see in January, how good is german hockey team. I really hope at least as good as you write ...

oh come on. This german team is definitely better than the slovakian one and your player comparisons are trash

I think it would be close game if we went up against each other. I think both teams think they can make some noise. I’d say this German team has more high end talent, Slovaks can’t match a guy like Seider. Although I do think Knazko is getting criminally underrated by scouts. However, to say this German team is better than the Czechs is absolute blasphemy. I’m taking Jenik over every German forward, and Czechs have the depth advantage. Plus better goaltending. Not hating on this German team, but I think they will be at there best level next year.

Your arguments are "great", congrats ...

I totally agree with firstafricanslovak post.
I agree with him too.

You are comparing Cajkovic, Okuliar and Hlavaj with Bokk, Seider and Stützle. I dont think I have to bring on arguments for bold comparisons like this.

Not going to disagree with this. But, I am 100% rooting for Germany to not get relegated this year since I think they actually have a shot at a medal next year if they stay up. Could be similar to Switzerland last year... a pleasant surprise.
