Supposedly it was the 2017 draft that he was really in charge of so Norris, Ferraro, etc are his. And maybe us pushing for Euro FAs was his doing? I would need to find more info on that one.
Little early but looking to be a pretty good draft. Norris is doing well in the AHL, Ferraro doing well in the NHL, Reedy is meh, McGrew is meh, Ch-twins looked good in junior.

From the last 7 drafts the Sharks have Timo, Banc and then Gambrell, Ferraro thats seriously it haha. Haven't had amazing picks but man nothing is coming through the system.

What's the basis for having faith Wilson Jr. will make better picks than Burke did?

Dude farts and he gets promoted. What are his actual accomplishments?
Wasn't he touted for working his way up? Couple of articles on the Athletic spoke very highly of him, getting an MBA albeit at Santa Clara Uni. Burke is also a big fan of DW Jr but who knows.

It honestly takes like 5 years of drafting before you even have an idea of how drafts went. I guess we start finding out soon ish haha

Director of hockey ops at 30 and director of scouting at 32 might be some of the youngest appointments in the league. He has his MBA and he might not be as bad as Burke, but we don’t know yet. So he’s got that going for him which is nice.

Franchise is located in the world’s epicenter of technology and innovation. Should be a few bright minds in the area.

Hired w/no experience to #4(?) on the hockey side in 6 years based on platitudes and a player that wasn't unearthed by JR, but that the org took a chance on.

@Munnyro, do you have the Atlantic articles?

He could just as easily blow out his knee or some other career ending injury. No point planning on prospects that are 2 years away.

So could Hertl.

Not saying we should tank but people around here really don’t value the draft enough. Pittsburg, LA and Chicago have all won 2-3 cups in the last 15 years. What do they all have in common?

We have never been in their tier when those teams were at their peaks. Why is that?

No people around here value the draft too much. Would you rather a cup in 2021 or the possibility of a player that might be good but is not a guaranteed NHL player?
