Chargers are 1 of only 3 teams to not lose a game by more than 1 score this season (Steelers and Chiefs are the others). I can't imagine them losing the the Jets.

They're like the perpetual even odds team under Lynn.

2 seasons ago they were 12-4 overall, and 7-1 in one score games.

Last year they were 2-9 in one score games.

this should be a 350 and 3 day for Herbert.

This is like the game earlier when we started WRs Chris Hogan (terrible), Braxton Berrios (return "specialist"), Lawrence Cager (UDFA), and Josh Malone/Josh Adams (possible the same person/possibly not real people).

Looking back and now wanting the 0-16, we probably got lucky that happened for the Denver game since the Jets almost win that game even with all that crap.

If the Jets win a game this season it will just prove they cant to anything right. They do not have a functional professional roster.

Eh, one game will get them Lawrence. If I were a Jets fan I would rooting for losses but would hope they'd get a win somewhere in there. 0-16 is embarrassing.
I'm inclined to agree that winning one is preferable from joining the no-win club. That said, Jets fans are all pretty immune to embarrassment at this point. When everything is embarrassing, nothing is really embarrassing.

Yup I have no shame anymore as I'd have no problemo being the 3rd or is it 4th team in history to go 0-16....none whatsoever!.

I really really want this #1 overall pick as I think it's crucial to the future of this god forsaken cursed franchise. I'm convinced that the Jags aren't winning another a game rest of the season as they have in order Steelers and Browns at home followed by the red hot Vikings, home Titans, at Baltimore home vs Chicago and finish the season at Indy.

On paper sure it looks like they could maybe beat Chicago and maybe Indy rests it's starters as by than they would have clinched a playoff spot and seeding wouldn't be a factor. But I'm not taking any chances and winning any game as with our wonderful luck, we'll end up tied with the Jags and they'll have the tie breaker on us.

So with our remaining schedule of at San Diego(yes they'll always be San Diego to me...lol), home vs Miami and the Raiders, at Seattle and at the Rams and ending up with home vs Cleveland and at the Patriots.

Tho the Jets won't be favored in any game the rest of the way, no matter what you guys say, I'm concerned about tomorrow's game vs the Chargers as they, like us are cursed and can blow games with the best of them. I'm feeling better about Miami now as they have become a good team. The Raiders I feel pretty good we'll lose to them. The Rams and Seattle are definite losses...so feel good there.

The last two games....the Browns I'm not totally comfy there as the Browns are a cursed franchise just like us and tho they'll definitly be playing hard, I'd not put it past them to chokola and gift us a win. And finally the Patriots game. You guys know how I feel about this one. If not allow me to remind you as I've been saying this since around Game 4. Belechik hates the Jets more than anything in the world and tho it would be totally against his coaching credo and style to rest starters as it's just not the way he does things.

Would it totally shock anyone if the Patriots are out of the playoff hunt and have nothing to play for, if the hoodie decided...."hmmm....do I want to have to face Trevor Lawrence twice a year for the next decade so would it be so terrible to rest Cam and some of the other starters and give some of these kids a look for next year"?.

Would it be surprising if Belechik did that? Yeah kind of cause it's not his style. But it certainly wouldn't shock me if he did it and potentially gift the Jets a win they absolutely would have no shot at winning otherwise.

Bottom line....0-16 guarantees Lawrence obviously. 1-15 would get me really nervous considering the Jags are just about as horrible as we are. The push for the #1 overall starts in earnest tomorrow and so my "beloved" Jets do the right thing and play hard, Becton, Davis, Perine, Mims all play well but lose the dang game!!

What a good Jet fan I am....lol

They aren't finishing 0-16. This is the Jets. They will win the final 3 games of the season and end up drafting outside the top 5. It's the Jet-iest of all possible outcomes.

A 1OA QB doesn't replace solid drafting and signings at the other positions. Going back 30 years, the only QBs drafted #1 that won a superbowl are Eli, David Carr (who was Eli's backup), Peyton Manning (who stayed in school to avoid being drafted by the Jets) and Drew Bledsoe (who was Brady's backup). Aside from Peyton Manning are you tanking for any of these guys?

Has a team that won 3 games ever finished outside the top 5?

Not sure, but there are currently 7 teams with 2 or fewer wins (and 5 more with 3 wins). Jets are gonna Jet. Assuming the most disastrous outcome is the only way I've maintained 30 years as a fan of this stupid team. I still remember back in 2008, the year Favre played here. A buddy of mine, a Ravens fan, asked my why I didn't seem more excited (this was around week 12 or 13 or so). He was all "You have Favre. Your team is 8-3. You just rattled off a 5-game win streak and stomped Tennessee to give them their first loss. Why the pessimism?" I told him, the Jets are gonna Jet. They always find a way to twist the knife. Naturally, Favre picked up an injury, only threw two TD's over the last 5 games, the team went 1-4 down the stretch, and were formally knocked out of post-season consideration in the last week of the season by the Miami Dolphins and our previous QB, Chad Pennington.

So no matter how unlikely, I'm calling it now--the Jets will somehow find a way to win out those last three weeks and find themselves outside the top 5.

You make some good points. And so that said, sure I'd love to have Trevor Lawrence but it is precisely this point you bring up, why it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we do get the #1 overall pick, if we dealt it for the motherload.

We need so much help in so many positions, add more draft capital to what we already have, Douglass so long as he doesn't screw up and he has shown he knows what he's doing at least on the drafting end of things, should be able to fortify the Jets into a team that could be relevant by 2023.

I'm as fatalistic a Jet fan as there is here as I've had 50 years of practice but no chance the Jets win 3 games the rest of the way. I will say tho that the last two games of the year do worry me a tad.

If I had too rank the top 3 games that IMO would be the ones to get nervous about and think we could win going forward it would be the Browns game, tomorrow's game vs the jinxed Chargers and the Patriot game to end the season

Every other game I feel quite confident we'll lose and lose handily. Bottom line the absolute best the Jets could do would be 2-14. The worst they could do obviously would be 0-16. Let's split the difference and figure the Jets will end up 1-15. We just need to hope the Jags figure out a way to win another game seeing I believe they would win the tie breaker vs us.

Problem is, I don't see another W on the Jags schedule.

And by the way, I recall that '08 season vividly and your summary of what happened is spot on. The Jets were humming as that W vs the undefeated Titans was momentous at the time. Favre was rock solid and than as you said, he hurt his shoulder and it was all downhill from there. Shit like that happens to the Jets all the time.

Them winning 3 games tho this year just aint happening. The team is so horrid, they maybe could win one game by accident but anything more than that is a virtual impossibility they are that bad!

The Jags will win another game. Even if their probability to win every individual game is 20% (which is about what the odds have them at today) the most likely scenario is they would win at least one more game.

What does Carson Wentz's play in 2020 have anything o do with his play in 2017?

He was better in 2017, obviously, and maybe he might have ridden that fluke wave but he's always been a shit QB even if he was playing better than he was in 2017. This would make sense if was past his prime in 2020, no he just sucks.

He's had a 90+ rating except this year and his rookie year. Not crap to a Jets fan.
