So the Blackhawks are letting Kirby Dach play for team Canada at the WJC and there is talk of Lafreniere playing as well. Who wouldn't want to see Jack Hughes play for team USA?? I would absolutely love to see him play and dominate. It would be a great confidence booster and warm up before the season for him. Here's to hoping he plays!

Has it been confirmed one way or the other whether he is going or not?

Was probably in the minority that I thought he should have been released last year given the way things went in New Jersey.

And not sure it would be a bad thing for him to play in this year's tournament given the long layoff.

He would be a huge addition for Team USA but idk...I feel like he goes and USA plays poorly it will kill his confidence. All the media will say is he was underwhelming even if he plays well. Not to mention there is a chance of him being hurt.

Guys, I`m watching VHL game(vhl is russian analog of ahl) with Gritsyuk and this is my last Gritsyuk`s VHL game for this season. Everything is clear to me here. Gritsyuk should get time at the highest level and continue to develop his skills.

For the beginning - some stuff from Czech-Russia game

Gritsyuk was a beast there. He enter the zone with the puck 6 time out of six. Everytime when his line was on the ice they end it with shot or more. He made passes, shots, breakaway, pokechecks, he play hard in forecheck.
He is a gift.


I don`t know how Castron can find guys like him and Bratt in later rounds, but we have to give him credit.

He was on the floor with Podkolzin, Amirov and Marat. They are all more NHL ready, more cold and deadly, but I have to stay Arseniy is hot.

What can i say about Shakir`s game? I did it a lot during Karjala cup.
2 assists, best ice time, good dangerous moment difference. Good posotioning, raw skills.



It`s a long pick and Fitz say it from the beggining. Before the draft he literally say "we want to draft player who isnt only better for now but who will be better in the long distance". Or something like that. I should say Devils were focus on him long way before nyr drafted Schneider.

I watched Pytlik too. #86. He is look like what we want from him. Big agressive forward who has skills to play with the puck. I like his game against Russia, he wasn`t look like a poor child among stars. I think devils has those needs option in bottom six player with some scoring ability.

Hey, Guys. I spent some time with Gritsyuk in MHL, a saw his limited minutes in KHL. i was tracking him on Karjala CUp pretty carefully, and now i watched my second game in VHL(AHL Russian analog) of him.

Gritsyuk is #39 here.

Like i wrote before he is zone entering beast.


If we talk about posession work, i don`t know what he can`t to do.


..in offensive zone and in neatural zone. In defensive zone too, but i didn`t do a cut. You should sorry me for that.


look it how he read the moment. It`s a highlight play for top-10 first roundes. He read the play, going through the zone and make a perfect turnover pass through the zone to the open spot he opened moment before. This is like goals makes in NHL.

Gritsyuk made 2 assists in game against Toros. VHL tracked only one somehow. This is a first one. Besides assist he made all of the job to make this moment exist.

I will no track his game in the VHL, because Gritsyuk plays quite well in all components at this level. He should hone the shot, regardless of where he will play.

The next two players i will make record cuts will be Zaitsev and Sharangovich. I wanted to make Zaitsev before, but i have a feeling Sharangovich can return to the Devils soon. And i will make cuts for both of them in parallel.
I`m watching Boqvist and Holtz games too, but quallity of broadcast doesn't allow me to make recordings.

DEL isn't that far off from the AHL and is almost certainly better than the ECHL. If he knows German, it seems like as good a fit as he can have given the circumstances.

Didn't realize that some college hockey teams kicked off their seasons. Wisconsin beat Notre Dame (Matt Hellickson) tonight on NBCSN, looks like there's stream for tomorrow's game.

Trying to find it there's TV/stream for Michigan and Arizona State (Cole Brady) on Saturday. Look like Big Ten Network will have Sunday's game, not sure if Brady is slated to start either. It's a bit of an oddity, but Michigan has three potential top 10 picks for the 2021 Draft in its lineup (Owen Power, Kent Johnson, and Matty Beniers).
