It's in Keith's contract that he has to get powerplay minutes.I love Keith, but am going to be very happy when he's finally off the PP*. Not sure if it's fully gonna happen next season, but am really looking forward to having Boqvist and Mitchell as our PP QBs. Hope Mitchell is up to it (next season).
Needless to say, we really sucked on the PP this season (not all Keith's fault, not hardly). That has to change. We have ample firepower. We should jump to at least middle of the pack. If we'd been middle of the pack with our PP, our record would be a lot different.
* - putting Keith in late (2 defenders) is the smart play and doesn't count, lol
Powers ($): What are the Blackhawks getting in Swiss winger Pius Suter?
Articles like this one are why I subscribe.
I've yet to watch Suter play so I have no say on who is right or wrong, but generally speaking Powers is an awful scout. Great reporter, easily the best journalist for the Hawks but he has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to evaluating prospects.Powers doesn’t seem to give much confidence about Suter’s defensive game yet all the interviews speak well of that side. He said Kahun was a better 2-way player. Maybe I am misremembering but I remember Kahun being pretty average on defensive.
I trust other over Powers opinion.
A fresh 2020/21 lineup thread, so here's what I want it to be.
Saad-Toews-Kubalik
Lafreniere-Dach-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Nylander
Hagel-Suter-Caggiula
Keith-Boqvist
Kalynuk-Murphy
Carlsson-Mitchell
Crawford
Lankinen
Ian will be on different pairings throughout the year I think. JC will need to experiment with lines.Wait.. you highlighted him putting LaFranchise in there but not having Mitchell on the 3rd pairing..

It's inevitable. We don't have the cap space for Saad.My gut tells me Saad is getting traded. Also Blackhawks social media. Like how many photos of Nylander do they post versus Saad?
Even without Laf,
Suter - Toews - Kubalik
Nylander - Strome - Kane
Debrincat - Dach - Saad
Cagguila - Kampf - Carpenter/Shaw
Keith - Boqvist
De Haan - Mitchell
Kalynuk/Carlsson/Gilbert - Murphy
Seabs
That's a damn fine lineup.
And if the youngsters develop more consistent overall game from the playoff experience... Then we're onto something.
Not going to stop me from daydreaming about Lafreniere, but still .
pretty sure that you will see Kurashev make the club next season and IMO it could very well be Saad's spot that he takes on the roster and its very possible that one of entwhistle or barratt makes Kampf obsolete
